recording from DIRECT TV ...HOW?
Is there a way to record from DIRECT TV satellite by using a VCR or do you need Tivo to record programs?
I've tried to hook my VCR to record but I always get nothing but snow. Is Tivo or a DVD recorder the only way to do it?

Dude, what's up? You are using a regular satellite receiver right? To record from the satellite do this. Take your output from the satellite receiver and put it into the input of the VCR. Put the output of the vcr into the tv input. Put your tv on channel 3. You know that button on your vcr that says vcr/tv? I forgot which way it goes, but that button plays a role in recording from a satellite.

Ok, how about this then? How do you set the VRC to record a program on say..channel 207(satellite)....when the tuner on most VCR's only go to 125?

The VCR channel doesn't have anything to do with what you record on to from any other input device. The VCR channel only does anything when its a cable input. With the satellite being the input device, its sending only 1 channel/signal to the VCR instead of all the channels like a cable TV cable.
Go Sat. out to VCR In, VCR out to TV. Put TV on channel 3, VCR on channel 3 or an input channel and start recording. Just set yout Sat. to whatever channel you want to record.
