Heeh. OK, the hispanics around here seem to like them.

When I go to visit my uncle I've noticed his kids like the low-riders with hydraulics. Picked up one of their magazines they had laying around.. hard for me to get interested in them. They aren't interested in my Mustangs at all.

Actually it does seem to depend on the area. 10-12 years ago in Tampa, it was all lowrider trucks. Now its mainly rice, and a few musclecars, almost no lowriders, and a mess of SUV's.
Up here there seems to be more "classic" musclecars, (esp during summer obviously) the occasional brave ricer, and pick-ups as far as the eye can see.
Oddly, theres plenty of sn95+ stangs, but very few Foxes.

I think I've seen 2 more than once in the last 8-9 months.

The problem is that every kid thought that he was going to get rich opening up another shop or starting another company catering to sport compacts. This made for way too many companies, too many gimmicky mods that do nothing, and a whole lot of empty wallets. Hot Rod also mentioned that there is no grassroots in Sport compact racing. There are the 25 or so fast Pro cars that run on an annual budget bigger than the GDP of most small countries and after that, you'd be lucky to find more than a handfull of 11 or 12 second cars at these events.
I don't think that rice is going away, but I think that the height of it's popularity has passed-it won't be as mainstream, which is probably a good thing-weed out the idiots and let the serious sport compact crowd show us what they've got.

Nice area you're from there. I go up there every year or so. Checked out the car museum the last time I was there. Had some nice cars.
