![]() Hi - can any one help me, my standard 67 has what looks to be a belt driven air pump which is hooked up to a series of pipes that come from the exhaust manifold and end up at the inlet manifold. My question is this, can I disconnect this system and will it have any effects on the engine?

![]() Your actually still in the wrong forum, haha. Should be under classics. I didnt know any classic mustang came equipped with a smog pump. (I dont believe it should have) Anyway you shouldnt have a problem removing it all, just make sure to plug up any holes. Your motor might take a bit longer to warm up. If you have some time you should post up some pics of the engine and the car in general! Good luck.

![]() The VIN number should be stamped on the block behind the intake. Also behind the starter (Maybe)
