Cool Calling SMITHBLING

I was looking at a '93 Notch on the weekend, similar to yours. As you well know, i'm in the "buyes market" right now.

Anyway, it was a '93 and reminded of your.
Anything you can tell me about these "FOXES"? I've never even rode in one before.
Are they fast? Anyone else?

What's Up!

My personal reasons why the Notch rules (Whether correct or not)

1. Look way better and more BADASS than any other FOX
2. Far lighter therefore, quicker
3. Better gas mileage
4. No **** rattles from a hatch (I used to own one, I know!)
5. The notch is a tighter vehicle than the hatch
6. In K-W, I see more alot more hatches than converts and way more converts than notches
7. I have full exhaust and pullies and run 98 mph in the quarter. I think that is pretty good considering the mods.

FINALLY

8. Notches are the BOMB and you will absolutely love the car the first minute you drive it. Just ask SPINEMUP

Hey smithbilling.

I concur that AWD is heavier and hence harder on gas.

But the bulk of difference between an AWD and normal FWD (ESI model) for the TALON is the TURBO.

Why?
The second your turbo neddle spools, your gas pump is pumping hard. Have you ever followed a TSI when they step on it.... it stinks. They run rich... cuz rich safe. No detonation.

Lizard King: (I think this is a different topic?)

I owned a 1990 TSI AWD. I was referring to the AWD turbo vs the FWD turbo and the difference is approx. 200 lbs., due to the AWD alone. I rebuilt my turbo on my car and that weighed about 50 lbs. You can add that weight to the total also. In saying that the gas mileage goes in the following order.

Worst to best:

1. Talon AWD Turbo (TSI AWD)
2. Talon FWD Turbo (TSI)
3. Talon FWD (ESI)

foxes rules!!
i may be a bit impartial, but i think the fox notch is the best looking mustang ever..period..mind you this is just my opinion. i had a 95, and while working at a used car joint i saw a 93 being traded in, and i took ownership 3 days later..and i love it..

Get a freaking loud one. They scare a lot of rice boxes.

Just be careful when you launch... I've almost been hit a couple of times when racing other foxes.

I don't know why but they look hard to launch for some reason.

Hey SMITHBLING!
THanks for gettin' back man. You should come to Ottawa for some Friday night action - the competition here is fierce!

I'm still looking. The new Trader is coming out on Friday, hopefully it will have something interesting :-)
