Pulled over for the first time!
Hi,
Having never experienced this before, I figure I share my first experience of getting pulled over. The story: I get real cocky when I'm the first at a red light; I always do a fast take off, just for fun (and to learn). So I'm waiting at a red light, and behind me is a school bus, but I didn't see a cop or anything. I didn't want to go fast cuz I had to make a right turn into my work place (about 200ft. from red light). I took off fast on green, but peeled my tires, and when I looked up to see how far I got (I only got to 2nd gear), I saw a cop come out behind the school bus, and after me. I took two right turns before stopping, on which the cop later asked me why I took so long to pull over; I told him I worked here. Anywho, to make long story short, he told me it wasn't smart to squeal tires in front of a school bus and a cop (he didn't mention speeding cuz I was within my limits). He was a young cop and mentioned these cars are fun to drive, so I was hoping I wouldn't get a ticket. I was right, I didn't get a ticket. Prolly cuz it was 7:30am and he told he hadn't had his coffee yet. I don't konw why I take these risks. The cop station (it's pretty big) is just two lights from my work (and my home). Not very smart! Bye! ------------------ Gautam N. Lad http://www.cubicdesign.com http://www.cubicdesign.com/mustang/ |

I've gotten pulled over for some weird stuff too. Got pulled over for exhibition of speed after lighting my tires up really good then pulling away normally (didn't see the cop). Also got pulled over for excessive exhaust noise (rookie cop). I've only recieved 2 tickets though. One was for my brake lights, the other was for 50 in a 35. Hey Red5.0...most cities let you double your tickets and they'll knock it down to a non-moving violation so your insurance doesn't go up. It might seem like a lot...butthink of paying higher premiums for the next 5 years.

Hi,
You honestly think a cop is gonna believe you that your speedo is off? (No offence to cops in a serious way, I'm just assuming) My speedo is off (about +10km/h) too, cuz I think the prev. owner didn't adjust the speedo gears when he put the 3.55 rears.
