I know it was supposed to be a joke, but it's not true, pretty unaccurate too. Most of the 600hp cars that you see running 12's are FULL SHOW CARS, loaded with stereo, dvd, electronic equipment. And the 900hp are 9's, or low, low 10's.

We aren't really arguing, neither of us are mad, we are just talking.

It seems that someone doesnt understand that a 600-900 HP car is probably gonna run some slicks at the track
Many fast Supras around here 1 in the 10's and 2 in the 11's ...............with no wheel spin. Damn near stock TT Supras pulling 13.1's @3000ft If you dont drag race then you dont understand......The track and the street are 2 different worlds. Almost any traction problem is solved with some racing slicks. I beat my friends 96 mistic cobra on the street........but on the track he beat me 14.2 to a 14.62. @3000 ft. That sticky stuff they spray down helps alot! If I never ran my car at the track I would think I was running 14.1 or so cause I beat that mistic cobra. In one of my 5.0 mags they dumped the clutch at 5000rpm's on slicks on an stock 89 5.0 and ran a 14.1 @96mph with a professional driver. LS1's run about 2 seconds faster than stock 87-93 stangs I just cant see making up all that time with exhaust. JMO,

I agree with IBAD89 on this one. Of course the IRS is not as IDEAL for drag racing (as evidenced by the new cobras vs GTs) but I personally have never heard even one Supra driver be particularly vexed by the the IRS on their car and I'm from a very ricey area lol I'd personally have a TT Supra over a Mustang any day of the week, but the $$$ isn't there
Have you ever driven a TT Supra at the track Unit? And 1BAD89, have you seen those showcars actually run 12s, and know for a fact that its DUE to the extra bs inside? I think we are ALL debating things that are mostly speculation...not that we have actually experienced...which is cool, but can't be taken as gospel. However, without starting a fight, I do think 1BAD89 has a point...its really hard to talk about track times unless you've actually run the car...reminds me when we ran the 6 cylinder...the decent amount of torque makes it feel like a high 15 second car...imagine my embarassment when we couldn't urge that piddly 3.8L past 17.04!!!!! |

Gee Kell, you managed to insult three people in one reply. That may be a new record.
Take care, -Chris

mmmkay..there was no need to be rude. Never claimed to be an expert in Supras, merely conveyed my passing experience. Is it possible that you could respond to ANY post without making it into a grudgefest?
