One good to come from all that cold weather; I bet the mustang runs like a raped ape! "Figuratively speaking of course "

Hey I use to have a 1990 Dodge Dynasty before I got my stang. Man I hated that thing, but the sad thing is it was faster than my stang (for now )

ouch....i just got sad..........i'm sure the stang WOULD run like a "raped ape," speaking figuratively, but it happened to tip over onto its top a few months ago.....

But now I have a fastback that's taking it's place...should be running in a couple weeks as soon as Summit gets me my backordered bottom feed kit for my new Edelbrock street pump....project should be completed by May or June...I'll keep you all posted though....

I really miss snow, I haven't seen it in about 10 years... It was sooo much fun! I hate the cold though, but love the snow!

6T9-
I know, I replied to that with the solution for you. That's why I was asking. Let's try it again. Your problem is a little item called the Throttle Valve Switch. Your engine is actually carburetted, and has a two barrel. The primary barrel does all the work until you want passing power, at which time the secondary barrel comes into play. It opens when the primary throttle valve is at 50 degrees open. At this point, it contacts a switch mounted to the inside of the same bracket the dashpot is mounted to, right next to where the throttle cable attaches. This switch tells the computer that you are requesting extra power, and compensates for it. Your switch is stuck open, telling the computer you never want to open the secondary, so when you do, it falls on it's face. Odds are, the switch is bad, and replacing it will solve your problem. However, it is possible that the wiring to the switch could be damaged. I would trace the wires to the switch and look for obvious damage. Finding none, replace the switch.

Take care,
-Chris

Thanks PKRWUD, I'll take a look at it after school. That sounds exactly like what is happening. How much do these switches cost? And how hard are they to replace? Thanks for all the help man. I appreciate it a ton.

OH MAN 6T9PONY, you're makin' me hurt inside.. I miss the good ol' days. (and I'm only 23)

I grew up in Northern Ontario, close to Lake superior (sault ste. marie to be exact) AND BOY DO I MISS THE SNOW... Down here in Toronto, there's too much polution to get nice white snow, and tons of it...

You're reminding me of when I took the 91 F-250 supercab 4x4 351 out barelling around my public school, in behind the ball diamonds, etc, in like 2-3 feet of snow, had to take a good run at the wall that the plow made in the parking lot to get in and out of the ball-diamond, that was like (I SWEAR) 4 feet high, man, then you get snow in the engine bay, and it melts / steams out the sides of the hood, NICE !!

Or the time I got our 89 Grand Marquis on top of a 4 foot pile made by the snow-plow, that was insane too.. hehe

Enjoy the snow, I sure miss it !!!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun man! The roads are pretty much all cleared from deep snow now. Now it's just packed down and VERY slick.....after basketball practice last night about 6 pm I went and spun cookies in the school parking lot with my Nissan. I wish I had an ebrake on that thing. But it's no good. There's way too much slack in the cable. I adjusted it this weekend but to no avail. I'd need to cut out a little section and weld it back together. That would take too much effort or my lazy azz. I need to focus on the Stang too....

30 inches!?!?!? Wow....nothing like that around here....3 hours from here I'm sure there would be in the high country of the Rockies. The ski resorts are loving this weather.....

Where's PKRWUD at? I'm still wondering how much that little thingy he said that's wrong on my truck is going to cost...Tell him he needs to get his big butt in here.

Ahem. I don't know for sure, but it should be less than $20. If you'll send me your phonebook, I'll look up the number of your local Nissan dealer for you, but you'll have to dial the number yourself.

Take care,
-Chris

Local Nissan dealer....that's funny in itself....There is one Chrysler, one GM, and then like 5 used car lots in my town...not even a FORD dealership!!!?!?!?!?! So Nissan is out of the question....

I would ask you if local parts stores would have an object like this....but you'll pry just make fun of me again...so I won't....unless you want to answer an unasked questions....hehe....
