I woudn't mind seeing them around some more. For some reason though, I just don't understand Camaro guys. Maybe its because I'm died in the wool Ford, but there is just something off about them.

The best afternoon I ever spent with a car salesman was at the Chevy dealer in Santa Barbara. Walked onto the lot because I saw a 97 Cobra that I felt like driving. Ended up driving an LTI SS, LSI z28, and the Cobra. For some reason he thought I was going to buy the z, but I had no job, no cash etc.

Long story short, the GM's may have been faster, but the Cobra felt better. Riding around in it I felt like looking for a race, with the salesman riding shotgun. Its inexplainable, but I get that same feeling everytime I fire up a Mustang.

i like camaro's............i had an 80 camaro........i wish i coulda kept it and hopped it up.....

not so keen on the 4th gens, i hate the styling, and the things are rolling blindspots........i had no feel for the edges of the car, no confidence in tight manuevering.........i'd still prolly buy an lt1 just for the straight line........might sell the monte for one next summer, or something

i don't really care if they come back, i'd rather have a vette or a cobra...........or if i'm spending under 30, some sort of import

Actually, I would like to see them bring the Camaro back. Think about it. If they do away with it, it will leave one V-8 powered pony car out there and the only sales competition will be made up of Uncle Ben's fried rice. Sure, they'll still be selling Vettes and Vipers but those are way out of most folks' range. Pretty soon Ford may see a market that is leaning more toward Focus type performance than something as powerful as a big wasteful Mustang. I don't think for a minute that Ford was developing Mustangs all these years to compete with the Honda Civic sales. To me, the death of the rear wheel drive F-body may signal the evolution of the front wheel drive, DOHC four banger Mustang. . .with a big fart pipe and suzuki stickers al over it. I wonder if Ford's version will be a say VTEKKK on the fender.

Of course they should bring them back. I have a feeling they will do the same thing that they did with the Vette. Kill it off for a couple of years, then bring it back totally re-designed. I just hope that when they do, they do away with the cheap a** interior. After a year or so, they sound like they are going to fall apart. A friend of mine has a 01 SS and the interior rattles like you would not believe. I also hope they fix the front end. I drove one once, and you can't see the end of the car. As far as power goes, they definately have it. The friend with the SS, changed the plugs, o2 sensors, gutted the cats, and tuned the computer and is running consistent 12.4's in the 1/4. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

All this from a guy who posted timeslips of his car running 16's in the 1/4? you're funny man!

I would definitely like to see the Camaro come back... I'm sick of looking at import "performance" cars with buzz bombs prowling the streets. We need more domestic "muscle" cars, badly.

The GTO sounds like it's going to be a pretty sweet ride... the LS1 is a good motor that offers alot of HP potential. Plus, I love the fact that it's a push rod motor. GM did good with the motor, but fell on thier *** with the late model Camaro styling. The SS Camaro was a nice improvement, but not good enough, IMHO.

The rumor is that the re-released Camaro will have styling reminiscent of the 67-69 bodies... which I just happen to really like. If they manage to pull that off, then I just might venture to the dark side, lol.

67-69 styling with LS1 power.... that would really be something worth looking into. We'll see. I'm not liking the direction Ford is moving with the Mustang, but I'll hold off on trashing them until the final product arrives.

I'll always love the Fox body Mustang, regardless of what the future holds in store for domestic performance.

On a side note... the Corvette died after 1967, IMHO. The 63-67 'Vette is one of my all time favorite American muscle cars as well.

Default Lets see your first time slip

Did you not read what I said? I like the engine's (the engines have potential) but not the car, otherwise I'd own one and not a stang. Should I have lied about my timeslips? You know, I do own more than one mustang, hence the name "Kamaro Killer"! BTW, are you just ***-hurt that they stopped making your car cause nobody wanted to buy them anymore, or did you just feel like talking **** to me for no reason?

Just felt like talking S#!t to you! relax man, why are you so upset? I have what I have because I like it, the same reason you have what you have, if I wanted a Mustang, I would have one! I meant no harm, relax!

BTW, here is my first timeslip with my car, I have only ever made 5 passes with it, 2 one trip and 3 on another, the temp was in the mid 60's. I have however been drag racing for over 16 years.

Default Sorry dude

I've gotten a hard time from EVERYBODY about my slips. I wasn't implying that a Camaro is slow by any means, but it doesn't mean I have to like it, so I voiced my opinion. I was just kidding about them making it a sedan. I thought your post was just rubbing it in more, I am sorry if that was not your intention. Take care, Keith
