Single vs two chambers
I'm getting a set of mufflers this week. I'm definitely getting flowmasters, I like the sound of the 40 series 2 chamber mufflers, how do the single chamber race mufflers compare compare? I want the loudest muffler I can get, but I want it to have a similair hollow sound lke the 2 chambers. Also, would going to 3inch exhaust be any benefit over 2 1/2, or would it just hurt low-end torque?

I'd go with to 2-chambers. If you go with one-chambers you'll grab every cops attention in a 5-mile radius! Probably not what you want for a street car.

another vote for the two chambers... Mr. 5.0 is right, you'll probably get sick of them, but then again, people said I'd get sick of mine too, and I still find myself turning the radio off just to hear the sound!

The mufflers are actually for my 1985 Chevy Astrovan, I'm dropping in a 350 (performer rpm package, headers, port&polish) in a week or two, I want it to sound as bad as possible, most people won't be expecting a minivan when they hear it.

If you want it to sound as bad as possible, then definitely go for the one chambers!
