Talking Right before you race...

What do you do right before you race?
I have heard that some people kiss the stearing wheel or pat the shifter knob... lol! Just wondering what you guys did?

Well,
I usually start a gregorian chant and sacrifice a live chicken to the 60 foot God, but the track admins are making me do it in the staging lanes now.... you know, insurance reasons...

I always pat the passenger seat of my car after a good race. I felt weird about it at first, but I kinda think you should thank the car for a job well done. Am I a weirdo, or is this not uncommon.

I usually look around for any cops that might be hiding out somewhere. At the track, I just say a little prayer, which goes something like this; "God, don't let her blow up, or hit the wall."

I usually look down the track/street for anything that shouldn't be there (kids, cops, trash cans...), take a couple of slow breaths, twitch my right foot a couple of times to get the bloodflow going, grip the wheel hard, say, "ready, baby?" and hang on.

I had a thought after I spanked a Supra last fall. I want to find a battery- or 12-volt-powered blender, so when these riceboys pull up next to me, I can whip out the blender, say "GO!" and turn it on. Heheheheheh.
