Cool

Rule of thumb- a showcar must run at least a low 13 quarter, a racecar can look as horrid as you want as long as it goes fast!

You were at Autorama Red Lil?
I must have seen your car then....

Did you stop by the North Texas Mustang Club's spot? A few fellow club members had some beautiful rides out there...

Oh, I seem to have hit a nerve!! LOL. I can't call my car a show car, but I like her to look good. Speed is always on the menu, but sometimes, I just want to sit a little father back in the seat, listen to some good tunes, and cruise. Who wants a ride?

Wink

I would of course have to know the budget, and what kind of shape the car was in. For me, gotta clean it up a little, cannot be in primer.

I'd rather have a car that looked really nice than one with blazing speed.

GO! then SHOW.

You should've seen how ugly my car was when I first stuck the engine in and got it out on the road. Ha ha. But I tell you one thing, the people in the cars I smoked were too embarassed when they got beat by such an ugly car. LOL

I believe that beauty lies in functionality and good engineering. nothing should be without a purpose, which rules out a lot of "showy" "mods". beauty to me would be like squeezing 700 horsepower out of the 2.8L I-6 that was in the Datsun 280Z/X (it has been done). beauty is all in the details, like pulling out a little weight here, a little there. beauty is a functional air scoop, an aerodynamically efficient that actually increases downforce (over the driving wheels). that is beauty to me, not showy, weight-adding chrome, or huge shopping cart wings.

I would DEFINENTLY say GO. I would love to go take my car in to get body work done, and some new paint, but that 1k could get me a nice exhaust/header setup, so I just end up shining my dents and scratches. Its great cause my hood is in good shape, so I get it all nice and clean, and then I can do a dukes of hazard slide.
