Drag car? or waste of time
Hey guys,
A race buddy and I have found a 429 motor, that is running. Its a 72 year block virgin. What do you guys think about putting the motor in a coupe fox body car with a roll cage and such. Think it would do good or a waste of time, Of course putting a bigger cam and all that in it?

Re: Drag car? or waste of time
I think it'd be cool! Granted, those 385-series big blocks are pretty heavy. But hey, so is a mod motor. And that's been done in Fox bodies with decent results. I say go for it!

Re: Drag car? or waste of time
I'd suggest finding a '72 Mustang to put it in...but that's just me.

Re: Drag car? or waste of time
putting that engine in a fox body is always a good idea! Of course, that's only if you actually get it finished, lol. otherwise a fox mustang 429 metal storage box is all you get.

Re: Drag car? or waste of time
Go for it. There are plenty of parts out there for a 429. You can also make a 429 as big as you want. I believe the only difference between a 429 and a 460 is the crank size not 100% sure. I do know that if you put a 460 crank in a 429 you get 460ci.
