Question Motor City Online

Just got this game and got it installed. Unfortunately, I can't play it. It seems that my video card isn't the correct one, or something to that effect. I now have to go buy a new one. This bites.

Just wanted to rant a bit...don't pay too much attentin to me.

Later.

I'm going out to buy it tonight. I hope my video card will be ok. I have been following the development of this game for MONTHS and am excited that it's finally out.

All of the people from Mustangworks should create a club on there. Might be fun.

The game has been out since the first of November I believe. If enough Mustangworks members bet the game, I think a club would be a good idea. It costs $10k to create a club so I guess I should start saving my money.

I didn't build this system, so I really don't know the answer to that question. My father-in-law built it. Oh well, no biggie.

I'll be all for a club, just as soon as I can get on here. What would we call it, just Mustangworks, or what?? Then we could go and beat up on the other sites out there, like Corral, LS1, Ricer's R US, you name it. Hmmm, this could be fun.

We'll have to think of a good name to call the club.

The game cost me $40 and it's at anykind of store that sells computer games (best buy, electronics boutique, babbages, etc.)

The game is unreal. I was playing it for 4 hours tonight (it's now 12:50 am). The graphics can use some work but it's not a big deal. Everything is in real time. All of the car auctions and parts auctions are in real time. Just like E-Bay.

When you race people, whether it be in a drag race or a 6 person circuit race, everyone is syncronized with each other. The game is just soooo thorough and very deep in gameplay.

I already have my '57 Bel Air running 16.41 quarter mile times (stock was around 17. something)

I would recommend this game to anyone who loves the older cars and to anyone who loves racing.

Count me in. I'll probably pick it up this weekend, that or wait for X-mass.

Better watch out boys, I can almost drive as good on the computer as I can in real life!

The club things sounds cool as hell.

Nevermind, I found it. $10 a month to play? I guess. I've gotta admit, I always did think $1500 was alot of money to pay for a PlayStation (aka: PC). If I get in the mood to play video games, I break out the PlayStation. Games just don't feel like the right thing to be using a computer for. I don't know, nevermind. To each his or her own.

Take care,
-Chris

Yea, $10 isn't too bad of a price. You get the first month free with the purchase of the game though. So at least you have a month to try it out.

The web address is www.motorcityonline.com

I played this game through some of the beta period, when it was free. I managed to build '64 Galaxie that did low 11 second runs. The great thing about the game is that you can choose any style of racing you want. Circuit, street, drag... you name it.

Eventually, however, the fun does sometimes lag a bit. Like when you have been saving up for the last few hours to afford some new auction parts for the car, and you slap them on and it's not enough of an improvement to consistently beat people. Somehow you'll have to save up again and again and again, and there will always be someone faster than you.

Hopefully they'll continue to expand the game beyond the point I saw in the beta, otherwise it's just race for money > build cars > race for money > repeat. There are already supposed to be turf wars, though. Also they need to rework the graphics and the physics models a bit, I think that NFS:5 is better in those areas. It's a great idea though!

They are having turf wars. From what I understand, the game will be constantly evolving. There will be updates periodically with new cars and some other stuff. The beta version was just meant to get most of the bugs out of the game. The game is probably alot deeper now as compared to the Beta version.

Question

Any thoughts on a name for a club?
I was thinking something along the lines of the "gang" in Streets of Fire, but I can't remember the name of it. Heh heh. Guess that's a by-product of old age....... what was I saying?

Later.

I thought of this name before I discovered it was a Dodge Term.

How about the "Scat Pack". I like it, but Mopar already used it in the 60's.
