Thumbs up Unbelievable, But True!!!

I just went out to get the mail, and can't believe what I found in my mail box. I guess I should give a little history first. About 3 weeks ago, my best friends wife called me, and told me I had money waiting for me to claim online. Now, I've seen these emails too, and even went to one of those Unclaimed Property websites, but I never found anybody that owed me anything. Well, she said she got an email from a total stranger that swears he went to school with her when she lived in Texas 20 years ago, and he said he discovered that she had some money coming. So she looked into it, and sure enough, she had around $50 that was owed to her by someone, so she filled out and submitted the paperwork. Then she started looking under all her friends names. Well, when she typed mine in, it came up with something, so she called. I checked it out, and it was definately me they were talking about, but I had no clue what is was, where it was from, or anything. But, I figured all I had to lose was a stamp, so I sent in the forms. Well, today it came. A check from the State Of California Unclaimed Property Fund! It even includes interest!

Interestingly enough, I also received two phone bills today, which with all the calls to Texas talking with Christine, well, I can almost pay them now.

Take care,
-Chris

Too cool Chris. I keep going to that Found Money site and typing in my name but to no avail. Glad to see it worked for someone. C-ya, Melisa

EASY THERE, Turbo! I here she's saving herself.

Belle & Odie
I honestly can't remember the web address, but it was a state government website for California. If you can find the govt. web pages for your state, find their search feature, and enter in Unclaimed Property Fund, or something like that. If I can find the address I used, I'll post it.

Odie, nice Avatar!

Take care,
-Chris

Chris, thats great kind of funny that you got the money right before the phone bills.

down here in florida they publish in teh paper people with unclaimed money and i was just lookign through one year and saw my moms name there, i said he your name's here for some unclaimed money so we claled to check it out and turns out some older man that lived in some rooms that we rented out had her name on his bank account and he had died and left her the money in there. we had to drive to miami to pick up the check and it was $200-$300!

Yeah, no kidding! I had three pieces of mail today. Two phone bills, and a check. Between May 22, and June 7, I spent 1724 minutes on the phone calling Christine in Texas, for a total of $362.42. What's really bad is that she called me about twice that much. Her bills are going to be over $600 when she adds them all up. We now are switching to a program where it will always be $20 a month for unlimited calls. Where the hell was that offer a month ago! Anyway, that check couldn't have come at a better time!

Take care,
-Chris

Not a clue. I have been thinking about it a lot, and the only thing I can think of is maybe it's from a medical insurance payment, or something. Last year I had severe tendonitis in my ankle, and spent quite a few days at a specialist. I paid for the visits with cash, but maybe my insurance paid for a visit or two, as well. That sounds silly, though, so I really don't know, but hey, right now I really don't care! It's already been deposited!

Take care,
-Chris
