Unhappy Officially on the Market........

I just placed the first ad in an attempt to unload my 240z. I'm kind of sad, because I actually drove it again last weekend. There is something about old sport cars, even if they are slow and Japanese.

Sorry this is kind of off topic, but I had mixed feelings about offering the car. Not to mention I passed on an '85 gt vert to get it. That was a mistake I won't make again. Next purchase will be a Mustang, hopefully I can just ride and wait it out for the Cobra.

Thanks for allowing the lament.

That is a cool old sports car Mike!!! I'm sorry you are sad (tear!!) But more room for the Cobra, Yeah!!!

They were going to re-make the Z's a couple of years ago (you know like they did the VW Bugs). What ever happened to that?!?! Anybody know??!?!?

Thanks for the condolence, I'm torn about selling it. It is a fun car, but if I only get one car toy it has to be a Mustang.

The Z's are coming back in September. 350z, got a chance to sit in one at the LA auto show last January. It was a Japanese car, right hand drive, and I wasn't supposed to.

They will have GT-ish hp (280?) numbers with 6-speeds and IRS. Good looking cars too. A friend at work is getting one, and he'll think its fast for about a year, then he will see what fast is.

For anyone who is interested, I'm posting a link to a decent 350 site. Just so you know what they are when they start showing up.

Default Ahhh, memories!

The first professional engine restoration I did after opening my business was for one of the Radiologists I had worked for in X-ray at St. Johns in Oxnard. He had a '74 260Z, which was the very first car he bought after becoming a doctor. His wife wanted it gone, but it held sentimental value, so it pretty much became a planter at the end of his driveway. Well, to make a long story short, 2 months and several thousand dollars later, he had his baby back again, and loved it. It was a fun experience, except for those damn carbs! Those were a royal PITA!!!

Anyway, good luck with getting rid of your baby!

Take care,
-Chris

Sorry to hear about your baby go. It's never easy letting a loved one go so easy. We're all car guys (and girls) so we understand, it bugs me the people that are like "it's just a car", the time you put into the car has no value, the stories you can tell can never be replaced. Hopefully the Stang will bring back those memories.

§am.
