Goin under the knife...
Well all I have to go have surgery soon. I'm really not looking forward to this as I HATE doctors/hospitals. Not to mention the idea of going and getting cut open on purpose.
I have a torn rotating cuff in my right shoulder. For those that have no clue what a rotator cuff is like me here's a link and picture: Rotator cuff tear So for about 3 monhs I'll prolly be here A LOT as I can't do anything other than the therapy. I know this isn't a dangerous surgery but it still scares the heck outta me. Well thought I would share. Talk to ya'll again soon.

Good luck man. I'm sure everything will go smoothly. Like you said, it's not a risky operation.

Give 'em hell !!
Sorry to hear about your injury Polara, But trust in the fact that if you searched out the best MD. for the job the surgery will go without a hitch. Mr. Induction had the same work done several years ago and had some of the same fears you do but everything went well and he is much better for it. Although every now and agian it tends to ache after sleeping on it wrong but that is by far better than being in constant pain or not being able to lift it over his head .So all the best to you and don't stress , everything will be fine.

Good luck with your surgery, I'm sure everything will go well. Just be sure to do the therapy they tell you to, and you'll do great. I know how hard it is to do the therapy when it hurts like hell, but it'll get easier the more you do it. I didn't think my therapy would every quit hurting every time but it's great now and I have 90% use now a year and a half later ( on my wrist, tore the cartilage in a car accident ). Anyways, Good luck

Yep, everything will work out fine. It's a routine surgery for those oprhopods followed by physical therapy. I'm actually working on my masters in PT right now. You'll be getting some exercises to restore lost strength and flexibility. Those may not be the most fun thing to do, but for this type of injury and rehab, it's the magic ticket. Unfortunately, there isn't some machine we can hook you up to to make it all better (except for some ultra sound, moist heat, and E-stim/IFC you'll likely be getting for prophylaxis). Exercise is the drug of choice for PT. Stick with the rehab, and you'll get better much more quickly.
BTW, what was the cause? Chronic inflamation, an irregular acromion, trauma? --nathan

Thanks everyone for the responses. Makes me feel a bit better.
Silver- the cause was supposedly trauma. Lifted something I shouldn't have or something.

You HATE doctors? Well, just don't tell them that. It's true though, doctors are no good, we'd be better without them. Right? Right?
