99 V6 supercharged?
Heres the deal I have a 99 V6 stang and I have searched all over the place lookin for a company that has a turbo or preferably a supercharger kit for them I have looked through users rides and no one has a supercharged V6. So if anyone anyone at all knows a company that makes a supercharger kit for a 99 V6 I am dying to know who it is.

Unless you're really stuck on 6'es, why not trade and get a 4.6? Lot's of options then. Not a "V-6" flame, just common sense.

Rev if I had the money I would but since I didnt at the time I bought it and dont know its a little bit of a predicament. Besides its cheaper to do it this way anyways roughly the same power its lighter and probably cheaper

This is only my opinion, but first and formost, I would upgrade my brakes and suspension. Then I would go with a Blower. But since we are talking about you, and your car, I'd start off by calling Kenny Belle or Vortech. Each of those companies make a kit for your beloved V6. Hey REV, give him a break, V6's need love too!

Big white thank you first and formost you damn right I dont know about my brakes but the ride quality in that thing is absolute shite so springs is deffinately on my to do list But Ive tried reaching Vortech countless times and they never respond and as for as I know correct me if Im wrong but they dont make a 99 blower kit for a V6. As for kenny belle do they have a web site or somthin that i can look into?

I am not sure where to look on the web, but I know that the new Roush V6's have an option for a Vortech with a 6 or 9 # system. Probably an A-trim. Kenny Belle makes a Possitive Displacement system, which is really fun for around town fun!! But it is only a 6# system, good for roughly 75-100 hp.(very overrated)Check them out at www.kennybelle.com
I have heard of people using an S-trim, but not sure of the validity. Look for them at www.vortechengineering.com . Not sure if that is the right address or not. Just do a search on google or something. Check out www.supersixmotorsports.com they've done a lot of testing and they offer kits(ported heads, intake, cam and blower). They're still working on the 99's but they maybe able to answer questions. On the older 3.8 they got 305 ponies to the ground. Not too bad. And it started with around 150 and the crank. Think what they can do with the new 3.8.

There are about 3-4 guys maybe more on Corral.net with supercharged 6's. Check out the v6 power area there. But definatly call vortech. They are the best. Call em on the phone, thats the only way to get ahold of them.

Hmmmm... How much down time can your V-6 have?
What about trying to find an Thunderbird SC engine? They have an Eaton roots positive displacement blower on a 3.8L V-6 stock. The SC has is a much beefier assembly, maybe if you could find a lower mileage one you could drop it in there? They make 240hp and 300something lb/ft of torque. That should be good enough for mid 13's. Or you could probably just yank the SC off it and go to town. They should be relatively interchangable? Anyone try that? I think they make eigher 6 or 8psi. That outta get your V-6 into the 260-280hp area. |

OGC, I wasn't trying to be critical. Actually, I was thinking that trading for a 4.6 was the most cost effective way of getting more power. I can sympathize on the money thing too. Good luck what ever you do.
