Default My beast is finally running! *PICS*

My car has been down since early December when my harmonic balancer broke and destroyed the bearings. After 1 month of the car sitting, and 2.5 months of labor, the car finally starts! I just have to button up a few odds and ends, and its ready for a test drive!

I got rid of my old 308 block, due to lack of money. So I had a stock bottom end 302 built up. We installed a TFS Stage 1 cam and threw out the E-303. Everything else is pretty much the same, except for a very expensive Ford Racing balancer, a high volume oil pump drive shaft, and a MSD distributor.

The water pump had to be shaved to clearance the Ford Racing harmonic balancer. Ford claims a "slight modification is needed to the water pump BOLT." BAH!

We had to make a custom fitting for the oil sender and oil feed for the blower.

And a very happy Mike Starkey!

Hethj, videos will be coming, soon, REAL soon.

Yeah it is a great feeling, but I have not worked on it since Sunday night, so I have not yet driven it. Thats going to be an even better feeling. I hope to sell it before I blow up this motor.

So far the TFS cam sounds pretty good. The exhaust sounds a lot deeper from the front of the car, but sounds about the same from the rear. The new cam and new rings & pistson (higher compression) makes for a louder, more crisp sound. I can't wait to get on the throttle!

i had to hack up my water pump with my pro-race balancer too, you'd think they would make them so you dont have to hack up your car.

If the marketing people were smart, they'd sell a high flow water pump that cleared larger racing balancers.

Hey! Somebody write that down and tell Ford Racing!

Thumbs up

Man, I am really happy for you Rebel. Glad you got it running again. I remember the day when you told us the motor was screwed and now this news. Good to hear. Encouraging.
