Post Easy cooling with hood-pins

Hi,
Ok, this is kind of weird, and maybe pointless or stupid,
but last time we were at track, my bro told me that after his runs
finished, on the return road, he would pull the hood open
switch so that the hood would only open partially (the latch
would still hold it down, and since we have hood pins, if the
latch were to malfunction, the hood wouldn't fly open).

I did this as well; pulling the hood open switch at about
60-80km/h (I would cruise back around 50km/h).

Thing is, doing this, the hood would open about 1/2" to 1", so
the air can get into the engine compartment better. I don't expect
a world of difference, but I wonder if this would help cool
the engine a little faster when crusing back.

Bye!
