And yes, I can vouch for this one, Kell has never raced his 87GT or his new 2002GT at a track. I should know as I used to always beg him to get to a track...but he always had an excuse. He was always very technical in most any reply/post. E

To imply that Cbring is Unit is a insult to Kell.
The reason Kell never goes to the track is that the nearest one is like 1 1/2 hours away. Kell was a valuable resource, he knows his stuff. I, for one, was sad to see him go. Kell is moderator at TheMustangNet.com and posts on a few other forums. I don't care what you people say, Kell is a damn nice guy. He's helped my too many times to count. And believe it or not there was a time when he was a nice guy on the boards too. Senior member will remember that. He simply got mad at the number of ricerfobic members and the misinformation that was being sprea in Mod Madness (no offense to Hammer) l8ter, Josh, aka the tireburner

And that's fine. I never insulted him for it. All I did was beg him to go sometime. Which, for a person that is so devoted to Mustangs that he has two of them, you would think that one day he would make the trip to see what actual ET he gets. And, I live about 45 mins from my local track, but have made the trip to Norwalk (2hrs. 15mins one way) at least 3 times and have raced at another track called Kil-Kare that is about 1hr. and 15mins away. So, I don't see how a hour and a half drive can be that bad. Kell was a valuable resource, he knows his stuff. I, for one, was sad to see him go. Me too. However, his demeanor on the boards changed and he was not the most pleasant person to converse with (no offense here, just stating the facts). Kell is moderator at TheMustangNet.com and posts on a few other forums. Good for him. I agree with ultra on this, in that I hope he's happy and has found a site that's good for him. I don't care what you people say, Kell is a damn nice guy. He's helped my too many times to count. And believe it or not there was a time when he was a nice guy on the boards too. I'm a longtime member of this site and remember some great posts with Kell. E

Kell was one of my favorite debate sparring partners...
Although we hardly EVER agreed on anything, I respected the heck out of him. I was also kind of sad to see him go... Quote:
Kell just could never understand the point that most modular owners are NEW, and the numbers keep growing every day. So the amount of misinformation out there about 96 to present Mustangs are about 100 times the amount of crappy info about the old foxes. As the 4.6 stangs ever increase, the knowledge base will grow. (I'm already seeing this happen) Although I try to correct any BLATANT misinformation, I am not a mechanic, I don't know everything, I can't catch everything, and I'm even WRONG once in a while. Kell knows his stuff, he just took some things too seriously.

I was just joking about Unit being Cbring! Wow!
He was a know it all. But he did know quite alot for someone who doesnt turn wrenches for a living. No excuse on that "1 1/2 hour" trip. I went to the Modular Madness shootout in June. It was over 4 hours one way for me. I drove my car there, raced it, blew a head gasket, and drove it back home. Just ask Topless and Mom. An hour and a half is a small drive. He probably doesnt know how to drive and didnt want the word to get out. He probably is a nice guy. I have no beef with him except the fact he was a "technical" guy rather than a "technician" who he perceived himself to be. I am glad he likes it over there. Other than what i mentioned above, he seems like a decent guy.

That's a hike in Minnesota. I've been a lot of places and driven 1.5 hours in most of them, and frankly Minnesota is the slowest going state of them all.
And don't you two (jax and srv) start giving me crap because I've done it in NY and FL, and well heck, I almost did it coming home from work tonight, dammn LA traffic.

That's still close. He's just afraid of racing. It's an unknown. You can read tech mags and give very technical, magazine sounding replies to questions, but the only way you learn to race is to race, and Kell wasn't about to do something that he wasn't guaranteed to be successful at, right off the bat.
I'm glad he's still moderating for Kat. I recommended him to her when I retired from being the tech moderator there. I don't know what happened to Kell, but he did change. We used to be very good friends, and I received dozens of emails from him asking questions. Then I stopped coming to MW for a year and a half, and when I did sneak back in, he had gone from a nice, polite, quiet, yet helpful guy, to an egotistical self proclaimed master of all. I think he started hating me when I corrected him a few times. I never did it vengefully, I was just helping whoever had asked the questions, but he took it personally. I'll never forget the rant he went on insisting that an oil pump couldn't blow out an oil filter. I went as far as to post a page from Mellings website, and he still said it wasn't true. lol. I fear that he puts too high a value on always being right, and doesn't have the patience to learn new things. He doesn't handle being wrong very well at all. He became cold and mean to anyone that gave him a chance, and this just isn't the place for that. People often said they respected him for speaking his mind, which is fine when it involves an opinion, but Kell never learned that word. His opinions were law, and if you didn't agree 100%, you were stupid, dumb, and wrong. Period. He would even make shitt up just to bolster his "opinions", but most people never caught on. He would be an excellent poker player. Honestly, the scariest part is that he reminds me ALOT of myself ten years ago, which is why I still have faith that he'll get over his ego, and come back as the man I called a great friend. I do miss him being here, but the Kell I knew hasn't been here for over 2 years. Take care, ~Chris

Chris, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the racing part. Hell I wouldn't drive 3 hours, pay shell out 40-100 bucks for a entry fee, plus food. All for 1 to 3 runs.
Not to mention the racing season in that frozen waste land is only like 5 months. I do agree that Kell changed........on the board.......if you talk to him personally he's a damn nice guy.
