i am thinking of buying a 90 lx that has yellow stickers down the center of the car. have any of you tried to peel off the stickers? It goes down the entire car to the back! Were you successful and how did it look? Any tips in doing so? Thanks for all replies

Low temp heat gun/hair dryer
Hi Jim,
Yes, it is possible to remove decals and onlay graphics with a low heat air gun or a low temp hair dryer; however, be prepared for fade. Especially on a colors like Red, Yellow and Blue, you may notice a distinct color difference in the paint and where the decals ran over the car. Go slow. If the decals/graphics are chipping due to UV damage, it will be a job. Patience is a virtue! Good Luck. ~Jenn~ |

It really depends on too many conditions to give you a simple answer.
The best way to determine what you'll be left with is to look at the door jams, or the underside of the hood. Basically, compare two areas close together, one that's seen the sun, and one that's always hidden. Also, a good polish will get rid of 90% of fade, at least. The three step Meguiars is good, as is Zymol. Call a local auto detailer, get a quote and ask what they use. That way you can decide if its worth the elbow grease. Anything will look better than a yellow stipe.
