Cool 3.73 or 4.10 for NA summer cruiser 5 speed with 325hp?

Been goofing with this decision for months.. got the 4.10's sitting here... Car's driven to shows, and cruised during the summer months... not dragged at the strip at all.

HP will max out with approx 325 hp.. maybe a 75 shot ZEX eventually for mostly appearance at the shows

car's been subframed, and upgraded UCA LCA going in this spring.

thanks
Spenc

For mostly street driving, you would probably be happier with the 3.73. I wish I would have gotten a 4.10 though.

4.10's are the only way to go. Don't waste your time with the 3.73's. I haven't heard any complaints from anyone with them. Good Luck!

From your short description, I say stay with the 4.10's. You already have them sitting there. I've driven plenty of 3.73 geared 5 speeds and just recently drove one with 4.10's in it. I couldn't tell much of a difference between the two.

i've got 3.73's, and i've been on many road trips with them. but, if i had a set of 4.10's in front of me, i'd use them.

I would go with the 3.73 unless you really have a tire to hold that 4.10.

The T5 has a very low first gear, and it makes for uncontrollable wheelspin unless you can really hook that power to the ground.

I agree with Skyman, the 4.10's would need a sticky tire with the T-5. A buddy had the 4.10's with a T-5 and 1st gear was usless on the street. Not only for traction but you will be shifting more often. Now if you want to drag race I say run the 4.10 and slicks and then thats where thay would shine IMO. But for a street car that won't see much(or any) track duty I say 3.73's.

3.73 without a doubt. Street duty and 5 speed, 3.73 would be the way to go. My buddy had a AOD stang with 4.10's, and when he blew the tranny and did a 5 speed swap, he also switched down to 3.73's.

Said the 4.10s were to much for a mild 302 5 speed, street driven combo. but hey, to each his own, maybe you would like the 4.10's.

Actually the way I see it, from what I'm seeing, if 1st gear is useless with 3.73's anyway...I might as well go with the 4.10's

sounds like the 4.10's pull harder 2nd through 4th...

wheel spin in 1st seems to be the given with both ratio's

thanks

with the power your advirtising, 3.73's are fine, hell, 4.10's are just gonna spin even more. Unless you run around on slicks all the time 4.10's are gonna slow you down.
