Default Anyone think this is funny besides me?

My best friend is looking for a newer mustang GT to replace his current v6. And while we were at a car lot i decided to check out some of their eclipses they have. They were older, i think like 95-97, like the one in the Fast and the Furious. Anyway, at a closer glance, I noticed that all of the speedos go up to 170!. I think that this is hilarious considering the one in Fast and the Furious tops out at about 140, with all of his mods. I dont think the car even reached 170 with the "Nawwss" on top of the mods, I just thought it was hilarious that they came with 170 mph speedos.

i think its ironic that my 5.0L mustang has an 85mph speedo whereas my civic had a 120.

of course, i took my civic well over 140 several times

The older turbo eclipses did pretty damn good on the top end. I test drove a 96 turbo eclipse back in 96.

I liked the car alot, but the wanted 24,000 for it. I ended up getting a 96 fireturd for 23,000.

A few mods on a factory turbo car make a world of difference maybe thats the reason for the 170mph speedo.

Either that or to give the kids that buy them perpetual woodies so they keep dumping money into them thinking they might actually go that fast if they spend enough.

Take care,
~Chris

Sydney is on the other side of the world (Australia), Sidney is on the other side of Nebraska. We do have a big Cabela's here. This is where Cabela's was created! The creator/owner lives just down the street from me. At the moment he's doing a $3.4 million addition on his already huge house....neat, eh? My mom works at Cabela's Corporate Headquarters here in Sidney.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be attending UNO starting fall of '03. Do a little architectural engineering at the Peter Kiewit Institute of Technology over there.... I'm not sure if I'll be taking my Mustang down there, depends on if I can find a good, safe, cheap place to store it. I will have a pickup for a daily driver but it would be a lot of fun to tear around in the Mustang on weekends.

That is awesome, I almost bought a stang on the UNO campus. IT was a 92 Special Edition,53000 miles, but it was stolen, and i wasnt really serious at the moment. Yeah, Uno is a cool campus. Their library scares me though. too many words and books. Downtown Omaha isnt the best place in the world to be, but it is kinda neat. I love drivin my stang around there though, people stare, they are all used to seeing the average college kids cars. Not that that is a bad thing . Anyway, if you do decide to come down YOU HAVE TO BRING YOUR MACH! haha, you dont have to, it would just be neat to see in person. and maybe we can throw a shrimp on the barbie mate. (dunno if anyone will understand that or not)

That's a nice accent you have there....New Jersey? Austria. Oh, well then, G'day mate! Let's put another shrimp on the barbie! Let's not....

Definitely a movie that produced some of the best quotes ever...IMO...

I was down in Omaha about 3 weeks ago visiting the campus and the football staff. Pretty awesome place. Have you ever been in the Peter Kiewit Institute on the south UNO campus? That building is absolutely amazing.

I would love to have my fastback (not a Mach ) down there, I just don't know if it's going to be possible. Plus I'm sure it wouldn't be much of a contender in the races that go on down there.... Either way I imagine it would still be fun.
