Default New mach 1 hype.

I think the new Mach1 is an awesome car with good performance and good looks.

I think people are giving it a little too much credit in the speed department though. I took one by 3 cars to 110mph in my cobra.

People are saying that they will give the 03' cobra competition well thats BS. I suffered my worst loss ever at the hands of a stock 03 cobra. He beat me by at least 8 cars.

I think they are cool cars but there is alot of mis-information flying around.

After the way I walked the new mach 1 I would have to say that the HP rating is dead on and not underrated.

Just "my" opinion,

01' cobra 320hp and 317tq 3.27 gears
mach 1 305hp and 320tq 3.55 gears

Its no big deal I just find it funny that people are comparing it to a car that comes stock with 390 RWHP.

I do have a K&N but thats it,

What is the top 1/4 mile time for a stock 01 Cobra? So far the best for a stock Mach 1 with stock tires is 13.13, and that was with a bad take off. We have several owners who will be dynoing in the next few weeks, so we will know the truth about these cars then. Team Mustang has been quoted " the 01 Cobra is no match for the Mach 1". I would say they would know better than anyone, since they built the things. And the motors are not identical, Jack Roush designed the drivetrain specifically for these cars. Check on the registry, we have already broken down the parts list of the motor forums, very few parts are common between the two motors.
Possibly the guy you beat just didn't know how to race.

Not trying to flame or anything, just posting the facts in case you didn't know.

With minor mods I believe this car could reach the 03 Cobra area.

Team Mustang has also admitted that the 305 hp numbers are underrated. They would not tell by how much though.

Sorry buddy mag racing is for ricers.

But I have ran a 13.66 @3000ft which could easily be a 13.30 @sea level.

If I were to be a mag racer though MM&FF got a 13.13.

I went to the Mach 1 site, Just a bunch of rumors and no hard facts.

To reach 03 Cobra power levels a Mach 1 would only need........a blower

heh, you gotta love MM/FF's way of running a car. 1/8th a tank of gas, yank the sway bar, ice, pull the rear and passengers seat, axe the jack and spare, half the time skinnies. I just think it's kinda funny..........

I don't see how anyone could say the Mach will even come close to beating a 03 Cobra. They both have 4-valve motors, but the Cobra sports a blower. The Cobra will kill it. The Mach 1's motor isn't anything ultra special.

Tireburner is correct, the one thing that makes the 2003 Cobra so bad *** is the it being Supercharged. Not denying it wouldn't be quick without it, but it does give the extra edge over the Mach 1 and previous Cobra's.

I have seen several posts that the motor is just a 4v cobra motor.... I have looked into buying a new mach and all the info i am getting is that it is a warmed over with a different intake GT motor. Now i have not personally seen one up close yet i will soon (dealer is supposed to be getting one any day). But if it has a 4v motor i would like to see because even fords website says it is a 2-v.

this is straight from ford.com.

That info is flawed. The Mach 1 motor IS a 4v motor. Also there are more color options than that. You can get one in Azure Blue(ugly), Zinc Yellow, Dark Shadow Grey, Torch Red(which you should have known because Grabber1 has one) ,Black, and Oxford White.

i dont think they will be near the 03 cobras without a good deal of mods. (exhuast, intake, pulleys, suspension maybe higher gears)

my guess is the majority will be in the mid 13's stock. Which definently isnt too shabby

i want one

sorry, but racing ONE mach 1 been driven by someone who just got it cant make you judge them...sheesh....i raced a damn eclipse on the highway one time after i had only had my car for a month and we were neck and neck....it wasnt until we got another shot at it that i kicked his asz up to 130mph....i think the new mach 1 is definetly comparable to the 01 cobra...but not the 03...but the difference is basically just a blower...can you even supercharge something that already has forced induction? i thoguht you could only do so much....

I wouldnt doubt if the mach 1 is a touch quicker than the 01' cobra.

But 03 cobra.........Dream on.

Default 03 KING Cobra

Hey Folks!

I have to agree...Supercharged Cobra engine @ 390/390 is superior to the Mach 1. Then again it should be. The SVT Cobra's niche in the market is not intended to be taken by those of use selling our souls trying to obtain the Mach.

By the way. I'm sitting here with a dealer sticker copy for the car I'm very close to getting. And the specifications on this are 4.6L 4V DOHC V-8..this occurs: under Vehicle Description, under standard equipment/Functional and under price information showing it as an Optional Equipment Upgrade. But since it is being sold as a "package" car. It is in the base price. This would be a SEVERE Legal issue and not just a mistake in fact if they are indicating that engine on the window sticker!

So I am praying to have mine soon. I need to pry it out of the dealership's deal hands it appears..LOL...

Wish me luck. I'm goin' In tomorrow. I HATE CAR DEALERSHIPS!... Arrgggg Especially because cars are like drugs to me. I get impulsive. Not Good Combo... LOL...

Jenn

The shaker hood is nothing more than a cold air intake, there is no forced induction
