come on people WAKE UP!!!!! I can't believe for one second that you people are gonna sit here and actully believe that this is the Mustang that will be hitting showroom floors. It is 2003, the new stang isn't due out itill 2005!!!!! It's gonna look TOTALY different in 2 years, this stang is obviously just a concept car. Remember the Mach III?

If I remember correctly we are supposed to see the 2005 Stang at the Auto Show this month. I may be wrong.

I'm not saying that is or isn't the new design. I'm just saying if it is I don't think it would be all that bad if they made a few changes. It more than likely is just a concept car, but who knows?

That may be what these pictures are. I really don't think this car is all that bad. If they address the lighting and install some wrap-around head lights and make the tail lights look more retro to the Mustang instead of the 67 Cougar I think it could work.

I think this is a much better design myself...
That is some funny ****, PKRWUD in the gayest stang ever made LMAO!!!

OMG ... saying that monstrosity looks like a 60's Mustang is an insult to my entire generation !!! It looks like a sad face with droopy eyes ???
I kinda like the interior ... it looks early Thunderbird ... the tail i don't like but i could live with, but that droopy faced front end is hideous. It has potential
Chris .... shame on you man ... how old is she ? She looks like a highschool cheerleader ! LMAO
2Fast ... i'm not sure you should be allowed to own Photo Shop ! lol You're dangerous ! As long as you're tinkerin why don't you see if you can do something with the front end on that car !

Talking "...much better design"

Glad I decided to check this thread out again... I needed a good laugh, thanks 2Fast, LOL!!

I don't believe that Ford is going to replace the current design with that fugly variation of a Mustang... at least, I hope not.

Didn't like the spy photos, and I certainly don't like the 'real' photos.

PKRWUD doesn't look at all impressed with it, btw.. but at least the chick sitting shotgun can find some humor in the whole situation.

Default To be contrarian....

I'm gonna shock everyone and say that they are on the right track, but there are some stylizing points that still need to be addressed...

first, the back end is FUGLY! What was the designer thinking when they put that one up? The current stangs since 94.5 have been closer to correct.

Second, it is too stylized and squared-off. They tried too hard to modernize it and keep elements of the original design. What they are in need of is some soft curving.

at a glance, its really a nice concept. At a glance, it looks nice. It's just this particular execution isn't quite there yet.

BTW, forget 2005... the premiere WILL be 2004-1/2! Mark my words now. I think every self-respecting mustang fan will agree with that. it'll be the 40th anniversary that way. So, start getting concerned that they may not fix it before then!

I never even really thought of that. Maybe they will release the car next year. Maybe this will be the new Mustang. In a way I hope it isn't, but in another way I kinda hope it is, as long as they make a few changes. Like I said before (and the pic I made with Chris behind the wheel proves it), the car looks like it is made for yuppies. I couldn't see myself behind the wheel of that car. It's just not "Muscle" enough. But I don't think that is the new Mustang. It sits too low

Look at it this way... If that is the new Stang you have to admit... At least Ford FINALLY filled the wheel openings and lowered the car a little bit. The 4 wheel drive look has been going on since the original 64 1/2 Mustang. Maybe the new suspension setup they are working with allows them to lower the car and maintain ride quality?? Who knows. We'll find out soon enough, and I'm sure Ford will not let us down. I thought the 94-95 Mustangs were just plain ugly, but they have grown on me.

Thumbs down

Personally, I'm getting tired of all this "retro" CRAP . Hey, come up with something new! Ford did it in 94 and refined it in 99, so do it again! Seems like people are just running out of ideas... Yes, the 64 1/2 mustang and all the previous ones were great, but let it go.... Come up with something new, don't go backwards. (the Foxes are my personal favorites, but I don't want to see any retros of them...) So, what are they gonna do when they're done with retroing the to the late 60s stangs? I guess when that's old, they'll retro back to the fox stangs for 2010 and then the sn95s for 2013, and then maybe retro to the retro 2005 stangs for 2018 .... BLAAAAAHHHH....

I didn't mean for that to sound like Chris was the yuppy. I meant for it to mean Chris is the gear head, and he doesn't look right behind the wheel of that car. After reading my last post I can see where that could be taken the other way
