Post T-5 Compared to AOD

I picked up my (old) new 89 GT today and I love it!! It's my first 5-speed so I had a little trouble at first but got the hang of it real fast. I even chirped second gear on my second try!!

Compared to my 91 AOD, the 5-speed seems soooo much faster, It just seems like it pulls harder through the gears. And the 91 even had a converter and gears!! So far, I'm loving every second of having a 5-speed and would not trade it for the world.

Thumbs up

Congratulations!

FYI: The 5-speed is generally about a half-second quicker through the quarter mile than the stock AOD, but I strongly suggest a PRO 5.0 shifter for 'best results'.

A good running stock 5.0., launched and driven well, should be able to see low 14's, especially in cool, autumn air. Good luck.

Mr. 5.0,

I'm way ahead of you. The pro 5.0 is already ordered and in the mail. So are the subframe connectors and 4.10's!!
