Talking Oh yeah, it's fast!!

I'm not bragging and please don't think that I am...I just had to post this because I'm overwhelmingly happy with my Mustang's performance. Friend in the car today...held it in first with the AOD tranny. Got rolling, up to about 10 mph is my guess..POSSIBLY 15. Nailed the gas, and lost traction sporadically all the way through first gear. I know some of you might not believe me, because I didn't believe it myself, but I watched the tach spike around and could feel it doing something funky. All I have to say is..HALELUJAH! Bout time I got my hands on some real power!!!

Congrats!! Better get some sticky tires. Can't run fast if you're spinning.

Oh yeah.... And the funny part is, the rear tires are 245/50 16's, and they're Z-rated Coopers with an AA traction rating and A temperature rating.

I guesss it depends on your definition of fast. My work truck will do the same thing you described and it isnt fast

To really fully appreciate the power of the 5.0 you need some low gears and slicks and then dump the clutch @5000rpms.

There's nothing better,

Try slamming the gas in first and then going nowhere while pounds of rubber are added to the pavement....

I could pound it and leave rubber everywhere but I need to keep my tires. Lol. Car's being held overnight in the shop...stupid prev. owner broke the TV cable and twist tied it all up. If I had driven the car like this for another week or two the tranny could've suffered permanent, unrepairable damage. Great! So yeah, no money. And my definition of fast is...well...14 second 1/4 miles are nice..sub is even better. My old car was a 3.1 V6 Camaro...16.48 at 86 with a tad bit of tirespin was my best 1/4...

Glad to hear about your car. You gotta post some times when you go to the track.

Daniel.

I'll be going to the track as soon as I get it all fixed up. Problem is...TV Cable was broken and twist-tied up, causing low trans pressure...its getting replaced and I get the car back tomorrow, but I fear the sudden increase in pressure could blow my seals. Pray for me!
