Do GTs have a center lap belt in the rear?
Hopefully this is an easy quick one, but is very important to me. Do the 94-95 GT models or the 95-96 Cobra models have a rear center lap belt? I know they have the 3 point belt on either side in the rear, but I need to know if there is a center lap belt. I assume there is but don't now for sure.
Thanks all! |

Looks like I'm screwed! I was considering a Mustang GT as a car because I thought in a pinch I could fit 5 people (maybe 3-5 times a year). I had thought it had a center lap belt. It's not for a car seat but just for whoever was in the middle. I can't believe Ford didn't put a lap belt in even my wife's long gone crappy 95 Prelude had one. If there is not a lap belt, I cannot even consider a Mustang. This SUCKS!

OK, OK, NOW I DON'T KNOW WHO TO BELIEVE !!!
I just called a local dealer here in NY and they said the Cobra did NOT have a rear center lap belt but the GT models DO. That seems totally wrong to me because if Ford required 5 belts in the GT model I doubt they would meet federal approval by taking one out on the same model whether it was a limited edition or no. Could some one do me a favor and take a look at theirs? I know most of the time they get tucked in and you may not even know they are there. It's a stupid thing, but I really need to have that belt in the car, so if someone could look and let me know what year you have, my confusion can end and I'll know if I can look into buying a GT. |

Maybe this is the answer. I called another dealership and they said the convertible only has the rear shoulder belts but that all GT coupes have the middle lap belt. But since these are just words from them, I'd still appreciate anyone checking their cars and posting back.
Thanks, Hope renewed for a GT purchase! |

interesting, my 90 vert doesn't have it, but i guess a non-vert could, cause i guess it doesn't have the big wells in the rear?
