Talking A vist from some cheerleaders

The other day the Balitmore Ravens cheerleaders came out to see. They did a show for about an hour and sat down and had some dinner with us. They where very freindly and talkitive. A couple of the girls sat down at our table and talked to us. I did say much to them though. They asked me why i wasn't talking and I said cuz I am a Raiders fan. (I love the Raiders just as much as I love mustangs). Anyway the show was very good and interactive. Alot of guys got up on stage and got some t shirts and stuff like that. They where even teaching us how to do some of the moves. LOL That part was pretty funny. The amazing thing about it was all the girls had college dagrees and very good jobs. They had said they really don't make much money at all doing cheerleading that it is all just for fun and they had volenteered to come out to do the shows in the middle east. I thought that was very cool of them. NOt only where all the girls very pretty they were smart and had alot going for them which was the impressive part. YOu can only imagine what a bunch of army dudes did at the show with some hot women not having seen any for a couple of months.

Yeah, professional cheerleaders are actually way underskilled compared to college (or even some high school!) teams. As far as I know, they do not stunt, they do not compete, or do any kind of challenging gymnastics. I think its mostly just eye candy, riling up the fans, and a part time job to do for fun

hee hee actually I did do cheer in HS, but we didn't go to competiton or anything. Our football team SUCKED, so the squad didn't get too much funding, or even a good coach

BUT, we did teach ourselves some cute stunts like libertys, elevators, and basket tosses, and the year I graduated we had a University of Maryland girl come in for a coaching session. I couldn't believe all the stuff college cheerleaders have to do!!! Its like...cheer first, college later!

Seems that way doesnt it. But The eye candy is nice to see. And I have watched the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Special on tv in times past and most of them are lawyers, doctors, etc. etc. very professional women that are just cheering for teh fun adn exercise. I say more power to them, they have fun, I get some eye candy..

Dammit ! I didn't mean for it to come out catty-like...I like watching the pro squads! I was just elaborating on the fact that it IS a part time job for professional and non professional women, and that the demands aren't as high, SHEESH! I'm not always such a stick in the mud!

Most women on pro squads are former cheerleaders, dancers, and gymnasts. The older you get the harder it is to do some of that stuff. Up here is Seattle the Sea Gals do stunt, but pyramids are not done. The pay scale for the Sea Gals reads minimum wage per hour, minimum four hours, then hourly after that. They get shoes and workout cloths, plus business wear. The contract that they sign is three pages long, stating things like if your look changes they can fire you, and that they can fire you for no reason at all. Plus you can't date players or really associate with them. It is much more than just cheering for your team, they have fund raisers, children's benefits, and shows outside of the team schedule. Considering all that and a main day to day job on top of that, I wouldn't want to put my body in harms way to much either for minimum wage!!

Speaking of putting yourself in harms way for very liitle pay, how are things over there 69Fastback?

This thread has surely been an education. Very interesting twist on what I thought would become a "he he, cheerleaders" thread.

Things are not too bad around here at all. It is just 120 dagrees everyday and very boering. There isn't really anything at all to do. Most of my work around here is already done so i just kinda sit around most of the time. You live for things like the cheerleaders to come. You don't get to see very many attractive women around here that is for sure.
