Default Need help naming new puppy!

Well if all goes right I will be getting a new puppy within the next couple of weeks. She is currently only 5 weeks old and the cutest little thing. She is a pure-bread chocolate, box-nosed lab. She is an April Fool's Day pup to boot. I don't really know how to describe her personality cause its still forming but here it goes: she loves to cuddle and sleep (as do most puppies) and she will follow me wherever I go and loves to watch me play. Thats about all she's done so far, but I have only seen her 3 times in the past 2 weeks.

I was thinking of the line of Mustang names, like Paxton (boy's name) or Shelby, but Shelby is too common, and this dog is not common to say the least. But any input is appreciated.

Here are some pics:

Oh yeah she loves to ride in Mustangs, especially my Convertable. She has not had a chance to ride in my Cobra yet.

How about Vert?

Don't ask me, my cats names are:
Randy Rhoads
Rudy Sarzo
Oscar
Barney
Teaka (my ex named her)
Gar (was going to be named Turbo, but that name conflicted with my ex's turtle)
Spaz

I think Vert works, but what do I know.

Take care,
-Chris

Sis,,,Sissy

Rudie...

Zap...

Brownie..

I named my female Jack Russell "Rudie" because of her Rooting under the covers and being Rude to everyone.

Maybe just wait and see,,, The one that comes to ya is usually the best .

I know of another choc. lab named "Fudgy"
"Mocha" might work too

Ps: watch out it will chew everything in sight

He likes ridin in the stang so you gotta name him a car related name. Something like "Crankshaft" or "Chain Drive" If you name him somethign like that you'll have to use that Hillbilly trucker grinding deep voice when yo ucall him or it just wont have the same effect..

i second CJ, thats a good idea, and most people wouldn't even have a clue what it meant

What about Saleen? It sounds like a girls name. As long as you don't say "Saline" (I hate it when people pronounce it like that)

CJ is pretty good,

What about:

Sally (as in Mustang Sally)

Bullitt

Mare (female Horse)

That's all I can think of right now. I've just spent the last 7 hours stareing at a Spread sheet, so my creative powers are all but dull

Sorry, I don't have any unique names, but I want to let you know that labs are great dogs. I just got my first lab about 8 months ago and I think he's the best dog I've ever had (I've had dalmation, rott, and some different hunting dogs). They are very intelligent dogs, but will get into trouble if neglected.... like most dogs.

My dog's name is Sonnie (after Sonnie from the Godfather 1). I tried to name him Shelby, but the fiance wouldn't have it. My buddy's getting a black lab this weekend and he's going to name him Vinnie. We'll have a couple of gangsta dogs running the neighborhood!

Congrats on the puppy. Labs are awesome dogs. My parents have had two black labs and they were both extremely intelligent. They seem to have the most "personality" out of any other dogs I've seen. They are a handful for the first year and a half or so, but after that they are awesome.
One friend of mine has a Yorkie named Paxton and another has a Doberman named Saleen. Pretty cool names.

I like 95mustanggt's idea of Sally. That would be cool.

Here's a couple of ideas:
"Holley"
"Doc" (Dual Overhead Cam)
"Cam" (possibly short for Camille"

That is a beautiful puppy. My brother has 2 and they are wonderful breeds.I have a 220 lb. dane and I went through many names until I settled with zeus as I thought it sounded large(like him)I will try to post a pic. but I am not very good with this camera as this is a picture of a picture.I am not very tall but zeus is 6 foot 3 on his back legs and you can see the size difference in the pic.Sometimes you have to wait a month or two until the puppy strikes you with a certain personality trait before you can name it.My friend has a lab. and after several months of watching we noticed the dog always retrieved empty beer cans so he named it anheiser as in anheiser bush beer.I like the previous idea of saleen or maybe even roush.I had a female rottweiller named boost and it fit her well.Any way check the pic. and good luck

I feed him reduced calorie pro plan food.My vet said I should cut back on his calories because he is so large he may develope hip problems.I dont raise horses to feed him but I spend a lot of money on food cause he can easily eat a 40 lb bag per week.If I can find the pic. I will post it later of zeus standing next to my rott. who weighs in at 140 lbs.My rott. can walk under my dane and you can really get a scale of his size by the pic.
