This thread gets my vote for biggest tangent. I've heard of Sumo Wrestling cats, but never an RS Mustang. But then I've never seen a GT Camaro either.

On another off topic,
Shelby-how do you feel about your name being associated with the Dodge Omni? My dad actually had one for about 6 months (insert shame here) and he said it was pretty quick. I don't know, I refused to ride in it. Just wonderin.

Heh, I intentionally put a little spin on everything. Sasquatch became bigfoot, making a connection with you became Belle, your call name became the car. I was aware your name was Shelby. It only took me about 1 min to come up with the story, and I found it quite entertaining. Hehe.

The Mustang RS doesn't exist as a manufacturer option. As a dealer option, who knows. Not one that is highly coveted or well known. So in reality, to me there is no Mustang RS. I don't go for the dealer option crap. Worthless to me.

Actually, that little Dodge had some pep!! It may not have been the prettiest thing in the world, but it held it's own. My name is associated with lot of s**t. I think there is even gutters made by a company named Shelby something.

Just another Tangent

'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;

Shakespeare Rocks!!!

Just thought I would throw another iron into the fire with that one!!

Later gator,
Shelby

Manufacturers option, I know for a fact that it was not. Dealer options, well there has never been a good way of tracking that information, there was just to much out there. I would not say it is worthless, but unless you have first hand experience with a dealer option, you never know if it is real or not. (i.e. round head supports for the 65-66) I saw it, it was a dealer option!! I have tones more, were that came from. That is what you get from traveling with a resto magazine!!! Like I said you never know until you can prove or disprove it with your own eyes.

A-game over, insert next quarter, (J/K)

That was about the same time the Dodge Shelby Charger was out(mid 80s I believe), that was a pretty fast car at the time. I think it ran 0-60 at around 6 secs. Mr. Shelby worked for Dodge for a bit, I believe he tinkered with the Viper some too

To each her/his own!!! My experience lies mostly with early model Mustangs (64 1/2-73). Although I have modified two SN95 bodies and I am working slowly but surely on my '91 Fox body. Dealer options to early model Mustang owner is like candy. I know, I know I am really bad with the comparisons.

I never said that!!! Any Mustang to me is cool, I was just giving you some useless information about me!! If I could I would own every model/year of Mustang ever made!! Here are my top ten picks.

Got to cars & events in the menu bar, featured cars, then 10 baddest ever.

Mustang lover forever,

Simply because the dealer options are so hard to trace back. My 88GT had dealer installed A/C.

From the standpoint of a special model, the Saleen and Steeda are of a much different category as far as I'm concerned. They are well known, respected tuners. Saleen has actually become a manufacturer. That and they come with a well documented history.

McLaren, Saleen, and Steeda pop right into my head. They are a lot more like Shelby's than dealer options.

Tracing a dealer "special" car like that one from Kansas City that was posted about on here a while back is more difficult. In my opinion, they are worth nothing more than a standard Mustang. Just because a few dealers get together and change the rear end ratios means nothing to me.

Oh, and my A-game hasn't been in use within this thread, lol.

There's one in my neighborhood. I see it being driven every week. has a signature & number on the passenger side dash, I believe. Blue & white. Very fast, and very loud.

Take care,
-Chris

I don't like getting into arguments with rbatson because he usually has very valid points, and I respect him. It's difficult to get into an argument knowing you'll really have to work at it.

He's right. It takes forever for me to beat him.

Default No Boss '2?

Shelby, Shelby, Shelby.
I am a little worried about you. A '71 made your list?! I just don't know about that. The K-code fastback is a nice choice, and the little shout out to Scarlet is well, kind of funny.
But no BOSS 302? The '70 SCCA car is legendary, and I think you know how I feel about the '69's. Oh well, the foolishness of youth. I meandered through everybody's picks and Mr. Ford was the only one in favor of the 'little' BOSS.
I wonder what would happen if we started a mustang works top 10 thread? That would be interesting..........
