I got a need for speed!
So right now there is a lot of activity and I'm sick of my 56k. I got a new cpu this spring, p4 1.8 blah blah, but the dial up is going to be the death of me.
What are y'all running DSL or Cable? I'm thinking cable will be faster on account of where I'm located, but I was looking for input. Also, my clock loses time. Tonight it is only 5 minutes, but last night it fell a half hour behind. Any ideas why? And don't say because its a PC Chris. This happens at work a little too, different computer. This one is real bad. Do I need more ram? Somebody get Cyber or Skyman in here, please.

I happened to be A+ certified in PC repair. That's only part of the reason I like Macs so much more.
Replace the battery on your motherboard, and go with DSL. Take care, -Chris

I think there's actually a battery that runs your clock on your computer. It's probably about ready to bite the dust....

Yes, there is, and it's on the motherboard.

I must have got a dud battery out of the box. Bummer. I think I'm going with cable at least for now too. I'm really far from the nearest switch for DSL. Cable is cheaper down here too my almost $20 a month.

It won't matter, you'll love either one, so go with what works the best for you. I've had DSL for 3 years now, and have no regrets. A buddy of mine in Oxnard got cable 2 years ago, and switched to DSL 6 months ago because the cable got so slow. That's Oxnard, though.
Take care, -Chris
