Thumbs up ...And The Rain Gods Smiled

It's official: we (So Cal) are finally going to get some rain this weekend. It will be the first measurable rain we've seen since April. To put that into a better perspective, it hasn't rained here since two months before TNT flew out here and helped with our Sprint car team.

The sunny weather has been nice, but we're 10.5" below our normal rainfall average, which is is only 14.5" annually. Bottom line: my truck really needs to be washed, so I'm embracing the rain!

Seriously, though, for those of you who have never been in So Cal when it rains, you haven't seen true entertainment. The news broadcasts will treat this as if it were a hurricane, and the majority of the drivers will drive like idiots. There will be an unusually high number of accidents, and probably a mud slide or two.

So, bear with us as we try to adjust to this whole "wet" concept. Not all of us are as fortunate as others when it comes to the simplest of things, like rain.

Hey, this is major news here.

Take care,
ÅChris

Yeah right ... You probably will ... here on the other side of the hill ... Ohhhh it looks like its stalled over the Santa Barbara, Ventura area !!! So much for storm watch 2002 !! lolol
We haven't had as much rain here in the last year and a half as the Gobi desert gets !!! lol

As for the driving like idiots ... I'm an insurance appraiser, if it so much as sprinkles .. i'll be working overtime for a month trying to keep up with the backlog of totaled cars, along with every other insurance appraiser in Southern Calif. !! lol

Odessa Texas is probably even drier than Southern California. I kept saying man I wish it would rain, for the last two weeks it was cloudy and cold and the weather man kept saying its gonna rain. We got less than 2 inches from a 2 week storm.

I dont know for sure but I would imagine Odessa's anual rainfall is 8 or 9 inches.

So I feel your pain

Last week sometime during our little wet fiasco, my dad dumped almost 7.5" out of his rain guage in 2 days. It rained for almost 3 weeks. Gotta love that Texas weather!!!!!!!!!1

Thumbs down WERE SOAKED!

Its been raining Cats and Dogs for 2 solid weeks now.....the sun FINALLY CAME OUT YESTERDAY!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO....
my yard has not been mowed in a month, BUT the frigin' 2 9X6 Craters I had to fill w/ dirt and grass in my yard that the stinking city dug up are growing nicely and are now collecting weeds. My power window on the pass side motor is going out and the window will not seal. Its been leaking so I"ve had the top down for the last 2 days and nights to get the mildew smell out of Topless.....
The weathers been AWESOME here the last 2 days...ITS ACTUALLY 47* now! Its been cool and sunny. GREAT verte weather! Glad ya'll are getting rain where ya need it! Guess its good for you dry folks. Its nice for us not to be in a Flash Flood Watch for the first time in about 2-3 weeks!

Oh and TnT I was born in East Tex so i've lived in both climates .. love the green and all the lakes and water down there but the winter time out here simply can't be beat ... it was about 75 today, and there is no such thing as humidity, ever !

Get this: when she was here in June, it was overcast and muggy, especially at the track, which is right on the beach. While we were in the pits, I apologized to her for it being so humid, to which she laughed uncontrollably for at least 5 minutes. Apparently we have it pretty good as far as low humidity is concerned.

You guys have received more rain since June than we have since 1994. Really.

Sorry to hear that the city never repaired that swimming pool they started to put in your yard. I would have sent them the bill for the cost of filling it, but that's just me.

It won't rain on Sunday, it never does. Are you still going to meet us there? My best bud Dave is going, and we're going to meet up with Keith in San Dimas. Jim turned into a PMS'ing little girl, and is keeping his passes, so you're gonna have to come up with your own ticket money if you go. Let me know, and I'll fill you in on where we're gonna meet.

Take care,
ÅChris

There was a point in time where I considered not going for some reason which I cannot remember. Let me know where/when we all are meeting up. Might even try to get Keith to drive my lazy arse up from here, I mean, meet up farther south so we can ride up together.

We will meet you guys in San Dimas.

Get to the 210 freeway, and take it to Arrow Highway, which is a few miles NORTH of the 10 freeway. When you get off at Arrow Highway, turn LEFT (WEST), and go under the freeway overpass. Up ahead, on the right (NORTH), you will see a gas station, with a shopping center behind it. We will be at that gas station no later than 9am on Sunday.

Got it?

I had to cancel my Christmas trip due to a lack of funds, but my Mother will be retiring in March, so I'm going to try and make it down there for a week or so then.

Take care,
ÅChris
