5.0 87 Or 4.6 03
okay i entered this in one of the other thingies, but since it IS my first, i guess i should have put it here, so sorry about that, but help a poor, and i do emphasize the word poor, man out.
This is my first post, so bear with me. I have 2 mustangs, and i have to decide which one to build up. I need some help. i have an older stock 87 gt that is a bit used, but good enough condition to drive. and i have a brand new 03 gt. If i can only afford to supify one, which one will be better, based on price, performance, speed, availibility of parts, and just plain looks. which will be better in the LONG run??? I would just appretiate some friendly advice... thanks guys Lordspaz GT |

No doubt the 87. Way cheaper parts and alot easier to work on.

I agree. If you did want to work on the 2003, just put a blower on it and be done, but there's not much fun in that!

I'd make a toy out of the 87 and leave the 03 as dependable transportation.

I agree with rbatson. Make the 87 a beast and use the 03 has a daily driver.

I vote for using the '87 as a project car for all the reasons previously mentioned including the fact that performance parts are relatively cheap and plentiful. Insurance will be much less too and resale value isn't an issue with a 17-year-old modified Mustang 5.0.

I agree fix up the 87. becuase of the fore mention parts avail, and prices. Also a built fox body is becoming a rareity as apossed to the new bodystyle you see everyday all over the place.
