Default Winter Storage tips

I am putting the stanger to sleep for a few months (Dec-April) and need to know everything that I need to do to prep the car to sit that long.

I know I have to disconnect the battery, give it a good wash and ANOTHER coat of Zaino put a little bit of baking soda on a plate on the seat. The car will be on jackstands and the rims and tires will be removed. I have some Stabil to put in the gas. Should I change the oil now or when I get it out of storage?

Are there any other fliuds that need to be drained/changes before the car sits?

Please let me know anything that I missed!

The best thing to do is to drain out all the oil, run it for about 30 min. or less, then stuff lots of green stuff down the intake.

Hehehehe... just kidding....

Could always fog the engine and put a couple fabric softner sheets under the seats.

Change the oil before storage.

You've pretty much got it covered. Change the oil before you store it, and make sure the cooling system is full. I'd drain the cooling system, and refill it with a clean mix, but that's just me. Disconnect the battery at both cables, and take the weight off the tires. I've heard that Bounce sheets are a good deterrent for mice, and it will leave the interior smelling better. Wouldn't hurt to lube all the hinges and apply vasoline to the weather stripping. You're not planning on storing it that long, and your weather isn't that extreme, so these aren't mandatory, but if you're in the mood, do them.

Take care,
-Chris

BTW, if you do drain and refill your cooling system, use the old coolant as a rubber protector for the tires and weather stripping. Old coolant is one of the best rubber protectors there is.

Actually, I won't be storing it at home. We don't have the space for a car to sit so I will be paying for storage. I'm gonna try and get heated storage so my baby can sleep comfortable.
