Post Anyone ever FINISHED with mods?

Just curious...has anyone ever made mods to their car and then said - OK, now I'm done, no more mods, it is exactly how I want it...

I guess it would defeat the purpose of having a hobby, but it seems like I will never actually be done...what's next - brake upgrades, roll bar, heads, blower, wheels, 130A alt...

In a word......No.

I'll never be done. Just when I get happy with it, I'll blow something up and have to re-do everything, only better and faster.

I can quit anytime I want. Just because every dime I make I put into the stang dosn't mean I have a problem.
Now that I think of it this sounds like a heroin problem.

In this hobby - no way, never. Well, I cant speak for everybody, but generally speaking, its an on-going process.

To a lot of people, doing the work on the car is the best part. Then they sell it, and start over with another one.

I started out with my latest project car with a big bang, spending around 4,000 in initial mods that took a couple months to install. Then I have taken as long as a year doing nothing to the car at all.

It depends on your expendable income, your priorities at the time, blah, blah, but if you enjoy modifying your car, and you keep the car for a long time, you usually will always tinker or change something.

My wife is expecting a baby soon, and unlike many others on this site in the same situation who are selling their stangs, I have vowed to keep mine, although keeping future mods to a bare minimum

My wife and I are also expecting, so instead of getting a ProCharger, I got a new Tremec, which is a little less expensive when it's all said and done.

But, to anwser the question, I guess I will never offically be "done." However, once I get an R302 block, stroked to 327 or 331, professionally built by Bennett, a big-a$$ ProCharger, Baer brakes all around, and it's streetable....well, then, that's kinda like heaven

But, I'll still want to change the oil, wash her, and then maybe get a cool top quality paint job and maybe a cage...

Ok, I guess I have a problem

That was pretty fun...you're only done when the car is sold.

THIS IS GREAT NEWS! I'm glad I am not the only one that will NEVER be done :-)

The planning and anticipation of upgrades is a lot of fun - and the pride in ownership from doing your own wrenching is great too.

Fortunately, my wife is very supportive of my hobbies, I think she is starting to realize it is a never-ending saga.

Oh Ya, I'm done. I don't want to do anymore to my stang. A stock mustang has more than enough power.

j/k, I don't think so Jim!

My problem is that my wife says I can do a couple things. I then start listing off a couple "short term" projects. She says OK, and then I continue to ramble off things I would like to do. She then tell's me that she doesn't want me to start, because IT WILL NEVER END!.

But then again she is right....
