Cure for a hangover
I'm looking for any good cures for a hangover besides not drinking. This stupid bar across the street from my apartment has free drinks on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:00 and apparently I took advantage of it a little too much last night. Any remedies would be greatly appreciated.

Drink the same thing in the morning that you were drinking the night before. If you were drinking beer then drink a beer. If you were drinking shots then drink a shot. I'm serious.....try it.
Just one though or you will be on your way to AA classes.

Here's another suggestion: Endure the pain and learn from your mistake.

I just always try to drink a lot of water or juice the next morning and try to keep myself moving. Usually a bad hangover will be gone by mid-morning doing this. Nothing to scientific about it, but it works for me !

STAY DRUNK!! keep drinking! Alcoholics dont get hangovers. they just stay drunk. also i heard of this. eat really cold ice cream really fast when you have a hangover. the brain freeze does something and it is gone. i dont know if it works, my boss told me that today and he swears by it. they do have a drug on the market that cures hangovers. i forgot what it is called. well good luck!

I think my hangover has finally disapated. I'll have to try some of these suggestions another time as I probably will have a few more hangovers in my life. I'm a slow learner.

High quality H2O
It's a great misconception that it's alcohol that makes you hung over. The hung over feelings are all symtoms of dehydration. If think I'm kidding, take 5 exlax, drink a gallon of Apple juice, and call me in the morning. You will have spent all night on the john, and wake up the same way you felt this morning.
The best way around it is prevention. To keep up with the fluid loss, you need to drink twice as much water as you do beer. I know that nobody ever really does this, but if you try it, it works. The next best thing to do is drink as much gatorade before you pass out as possible. That stuff is made to make you think you're rehydrated and it may actually work. Also, keep a big water bottle by your bed, and anytime you wake up at night grab and drink. You don't really notice a hang over til the morning, so you kind of have all night to get water back in you. Asprin in the morning is best, because it thins out your blood, so just take two. Thinner blood=less blood pressure=not so much pounding in the head. Just a note, the above was compiled from my years at UC Santa Barbara, rated the best party school in the nation by Playboy magazine in 1989. Thanks Hef!

Man, this atleast cured mine for several months.
I was stationed in Germany, woke up one morning with some toothless hag, after a night of boozing I didn't drink for awhile after that, not as much anyway. |

LOL ever since I became single, I've endured my stupid hangovers at least three times a week!! UGH! I've learned to the point where I don't feel sick anymore... just tired and, well... hungover... LOL
I know my limit, and rarely go over, I think the last time I was hugging the toilet, I vowed to never do that again, and it's been a couple years! I'm dead tired tonight from my shenanigans last night... got busy with one of the cocktail waitresses at work!

He has a hang over, not PMS There are only two things that can speed up the recovery from a hang over, dring lots of water and get lots of rest. Preferably in your bed, not by the toliet Also, if you eat something while your drinking, this will help decrease your hangover this next morning.... keep this in mind, if you drink alcohol and water (like scotch and water), it will mess you up faster. |

Eating something helps to "soak it up" instead of absorbing into your fatty tissue, it goes into your food and out! and coffee doesn't make you sober, it just make for a wide awake drunk!! LOL

I know what I should do to prevent a hangover such as drink as much water as possible and eat some, but sometimes I forget to do those things for some reason. I was just looking for miracle cures after a hangover has taken hold. My friend has tried this alkaseltzer(no idea how to spell) morning stuff which he says helps him out a lot, I haven't tried it yet. I'll have to try that and a few other of the suggestions I've heard for next time.

Actually, the correct term for a hangover should be "alcohol poisoning". The "cure" is really "tincture of time". The liver actually does all the work.
There are some things that can make one feel a little better during "recovery". Alot of fluids, bed rest, and a lot of food in the stomach do help a little. An understanding boss will go a long way for those pesky weekday problems. Rev
