Default Would you do this to a new Mach 1??

At the Car Show today there was this Yellow 03 (or 04, I didnt want to get close enough to tell) Mach 1, the guy had put Lamborgini style doors on it and at least 25 lbs of stickers on it.

Maybe I am showing my true age but........

This car was a rolling billboard, it had stickers advertising some stereo shop, and a bunch of slogans and stuff, hideously ugly. Ling952 was there, he almost cried.

So he put stickers on it. The vertical doors are okay, but a little out of place on a Mustang IMHO. I don't understand why people on this site get so riled up about imports or appearance modifications.

I remember when "ricer" was a term used for an import economy car driver that put a K&N filter on their car, a bunch of wild exterior parts and THOUGHT their car was fast.

Slowly but surely the domestic high performance crowd started using the term "rice" and "ricer" more and more loosely until a Mustang with an aftermarket gauge bezel was referred to as "ricey" on this very site.

Get a grip. Ladder bars and jacked up rear ends were once in style too, but I'd bet the vast majority of us would declare them ridiculous today. Most of the old muscle cars came with optional or standard spoilers, and in the late 70s the Mustang and Firebirds featured giant stickers and appearance packages that offered no additional performance. It's a fad, and one that will likely pass by in the next few years.

Personally i hate rice burners. when one drives up alsong side of me no matter how big the guy driving it is i give him a dirty look. I just dont like them, as for lambo doors....STUPID on a mustang let alone on a mach 1 that screams muscle car! and for the stickers i have a K&N sticker on my roll down convertable window but thats as far as i would go with them i see people littering their cars with stickers and it totally makes the car unattrative, and how do you see out the rear window?. But hey thats my opinion, no one has to agree with me.

Thumbs down Re: Would you do this to a new Mach 1??

I was at that car show and that Mach 1 was hideous. It had so many stickers on it, it had more than the little hondas you see running around. The engine on the car was filthy and inside the door jams on the Mach were so dirty that they were almost black. His friend had a white V6 with white bullits and he had even more stickers on it than the Mach they were ugly.

Someone totally screwed up a perfect car. I was thinking of selling my 04 Mach but changed my mind today. I went shopping new insurance and the insurance man was telling me my insurance on the Mach was so high because it was so limited in numbers and replacement parts. I think I'll keep it, keep it stock.

Rollinastang and Powerslide GT has it right - many stickers and lambo doors are not Stang style - gutsy but a personal choice - why spoil the beautiful lines of any stang w/stickers -- and besides, one gets no extra power from it - the designers produced those shapes to be appealing and why cover up a great shine ?!?

Wink Re: Would you do this to a new Mach 1??

Orange - you are Brave !! - thats the kind of hp a Stang Chick don't want - mechanical improvement would be my way to go - sticking to my guns - why change the lines and no better performance - - besides i like the sleek but not too curvaceous lines of my STANG !!!
