Default I need help with PhotoShop 6.0!

I got PhotoShop 6.0....and I'm confused as all hell. I have no idea what I'm doing. I looked at a couple tutorials on the net and they scrambled my mind up pretty badly. Hehe...

What I really want to do is to be able to paint a car a different color, like some of the PhotoShop guys do on here. I remember one that someone did blue with a red and white flag on the side. It had shadows and looked pretty realistic.

Can anyone get me started using this program? Thanks for all the help!

1BAD89 got me started on AOL earlier tonight. I've started painting my old '69 Coupe a purple color. I have about half of it done. My eyes are getting a little sore and dry so I'm calling it quits on that for the night. Thanks 1BAD89!

I was the one who did the flag for Fox Body. Here's a tutorial I put together to show people how to use Photoshop to paint a car:
http://www.indianastangers.com/2FastLX/painting.htm

Let me know if anything is too confusing. Email me if you want at 2FastLX@indianastangers.com

I've been using Photoshop for a few years now so it's kinda hard to know what a beginner might need to know since it's been so long for me. If you don't understand anything in the tutorial let me know and I'll try to explain it better.

Also, here's a few good sites with tutorials for beginners to advanced Photoshop users:
http://www.designsbymark.com
http://www.eyeball-design.com/index3.htm
http://www.photoshoproadmap.com
http://www.phong.com/

Thanks for the compliment Fox Body.

6T9PONY - Photoshop 6.0 comes with Adobe ImageReady 3.0. Don't underestimate the power of ImageReady. It's great for doing animations, web graphics such as rollover buttons, and entire web pages. I suggest you learn them both because using one will teach you about the other.

That is where I made mine; in ImageReady

2FastLX explained it pretty good, basicly what I was going to say, it takes alot of messing around with the program to get it, I still havn't mastered it yet but I don't play around with it that much.

Yeah Five0, I used ImageReady. I make all my animations in Photoshop and make a new layer for each frame of the animation and just use ImageReady to put it all together. I have Flash that I like to use too, but you can't use .swf files for Avatars or I'd be getting pretty silly
