thats actually very close to my set up.gonna run fuel injection with prolly an f-1 powerglide, moser 9" ford, air to water intercooler in the passenger seat.also i have a QA1 front suspension. the rear torque boxes have been re-done and strengthened so i can run stock type suspension.I had seen and looked at that mustang in autorama.my shop had actually done some work with the carburated ls1 but not with a blower.

I wouldn't put a chevy engine in a mustang even if it was FREE.

Chevrolet stuff is a little cheaper and a little easier to come by. I know an old man who build a Ranger with a 305. but thats a Ranger, you could put a hyundai engine in a god damn Ranger for all I care though. But a Mustang deserves a ford engine.

Well, sounds as if you're going to do it no matter what anyone says, so good luck to ya. I've seen a few of these monstrosities before, and each one was a hillbillie hack job at best. Quality work is seldom seen where I've been living. If I were you, and had access to GM parts, I'd find myself an older Firebird and save a lot of retrofitting trouble.

this Beast is far from a hack job, doing the work here at the shop i have alot of control over quality.ill see if i cant get my digital camera to work and post some pics.the idea of puting an LS1 in a mustang is sick yes but not many have done it and the parts are cheap and most are free.

Older camaros and firebirds are a dime a dozen. It would be just as cheap to sell the Stang and put the "freebie" parts in a car that they were designed for.

nah the way this car is built and set up it will accept a ford powerplant or a chevy, using a motorplate set up just changing the plate and trans/driveshaft,plus i hate the look of camaros and T/A's mustang stylying is by far superior.

i love my 5.0's more than anything...but i'll tell ya what, if i had the money to put into an ls1 including building it up, i would definetly switch to one.
as for an ls1 in a stang...one hell of a motor in a light car...why not.

At least you're half alright. The only camaros that looked decent were the 67-69's. They went to hell after that. I never liked any of the T/A's. Probably the best looking one was the 76-77. Sorry, I hate GM with a passion. Goes with my username. LOL.

The latest census reports say that inbreeding is on the rise so I'm sure this type of stuff will be more commonplace.

Hyundai's with 302's?

I dunno, my first reaction is "blasphemy!!!!!" but I did like a quote in Dark's thread..."if you can't beat em..."
The pragmatic part of my brain (most of it, whats left at least) says "do whatever to make it fast", but this still seems ...unnatural ...Like ford street rods running 350's, but worse.... I guess because the engine, to me, is the heart of the car. With a lot of the rods, they're already "frankencars' built out of lots of different things, so its not so bad. Swapping a Chebbie into a "true" ford seems to take the personality/heratige away from it and turn it into a "kit-car".

Just my .02
