Gran Turismo, anyone?
Every so often I see a topic about video games, but strangely, none so far have been a racing game. Needless to say, I found this quite odd for a "car site".
Has anyone here ever played Gran Turismo? It's the only racing game I'll ever play, thanks to it's realistic physics, huge selection of REAL cars & concept cars (700+), real-life tracks, customization, etc. Right now, I'm still playing GT4 on the PS2 years after it's release, and I've only got about 42% completion. I admit, I don't get to play very much thanks to other responsibilites. Still, there's a lot to keep you busy, especially if you're a collector like me. Among about 200 cars that I've bought/won, I've got a Cobra R, Shelby GT350, and the Shelby Cobra roadster. Sometime in the next year or two, GT5 is coming out for the PS3. It's supposed to have online play, which is great for me. All of my friends are afraid to race me, and I'm pretty sure even my gf would spank them. Here's the official site if anyone is interested. http://www.us.playstation.com/Conten...te/default.asp

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
I've heard that game rocks. Im a big fan of Project Gotham Racing 3 on the 360. For some reason Im not a big fan of the Playstation, dont really know why... I really liked the recent Need For Speed series, even though they've kinda been ricer games it was still alot of fun. You could get a Ford Gt, so its all good.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
I've been a Grand Turismo junky since the first one came out. My friends and I used to waste hundreds of hours on those games. I don't play much anymore. 70% completed on GT4 so far.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
Unfortunately, I don't have any of the Ford GTs yet. I've been busy trying to win all the "one make" races, some of which I've been winning for 200 A-Spec points.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
Yeah, I have GT4 also. My son found a cheat for it that gave me 4 quintrillion dollars!(that's 24 zeros or something outragous like that..)
I never have to worry about money again!

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
Let me see if I can find the paper I had it on. If not, I might have to call my son and ask him or see if he remembers where he found it.
It might not be tonight but I'm on it!

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
You know you can just do the "Deutch Touring Car Maesterschaft" or whatever and sell the prize car for something like $750,000 right? Even easier is letting the B-Spec driver do it. I've only re-raced it once, though, keeping the prize car from the first time and selling the 2nd one. Money has never been a problem for me, seeing as how I tend to enter races with as few mods as possible. I think I have maybe 2-3 cars with N/A or turbo upgrades that didn't have them originally.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
Pokey...my son doesn't remember where he found that money cheat...but..I if you're willing to send me a memory card, I'll copy my game to it. You pay shipping charges both ways and I'll do it for nothing ($5 should cover it). My game is on'y 48% so it may or not be worth it to you. The amount of cash I have looks something like this. 4,494,873,874,952,758,295 Can you handle that? LOL
PM me if you or anyone else is interested.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
No offense, but that's very unnecessary. Just spam the DTCM yourself or use your B-spec driver (3X speed) like I said above, and you'll have all the money you need. Just remember to save some for the black race cars that show up in the used car lots around day 700.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
No offense taken. It's just that my was is much easier than your way. Just enter the cheat code and your're an instant quintrillionaire!
I'll NEVER have to be careful on how I spend money....EVER! Whatever I want.....I get

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
Alright. It was my thinking that he may not want to ship it both ways and wait, etc. Abusing the DTCM is one of (if not THE) fastest ways to earn money "in game". It's something he can do right now, if he wanted. That's why it's the better option, in my opinion. I was also trying to save him a little real life money and reduce the chances of something happening to your memory card (during shipping). It is up to the two of you, of course.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
Well..if I can find the cheat code in the mean time, I'll post it for everyone that wants it. It's up to him what he wants to do.
It would pointless for ME to use your method.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
My son remembers where we got that cheat code. He says he bought a disk from a video game store that had a bunch of cheats on it for GT4. When he said that today, I also remembered using that disk to get all that money. There was also another one onm there that gave you 1st place on in all the events and gave you 100% completion of the game. I didn't use that because what fun would that be?

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
So, anyone else think there should be more American events & cars, new and old, in the new GT? If they need to make room, they can get rid of the 80+ Skylines in the game.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
I'm sure they'll address those when they make GT5.
BTW, I tried to let my B-spec driver take over for me during an endurance race, after I entered the pits in 1st place and I ended up going a lap down and never recovered the lead even after I switched back to A-spec. B-spec driver SUCKS!! He acted like he was out for a Sunday cruise and NEVER once even attempted to pass another driver! Hopefully, in GT5, they'll eliminated the B-spec driver mode so they can focus more on better cars and stuff.

Re: Gran Turismo, anyone?
Yeah, B-Spec Bob will drive like a granny unless you let him practice and get his B-Spec points up.
Here's an ok guide for raising Bob's B-Spec points. It's under "In-depth FAQs". There are also other guides that some may find useful. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/561066.html The website is pretty dubious. Full of a bunch of silly kids, etc, so watch out.
