Dar and Driver
Anyone happen to read the latest issue of Car and Driver. They tested the 2001 Cobra, interesting results.
0-60 MPH 4.8 seconds 1/4 mile 13.4 seconds Both on street tires. The car et's a bit better on Slicks. Just thought a few of you might find the article interesting, C&D's data ws a bit off from the SVT Owners Manual Data. DT ------------------ |

Lets hope Road & Track, and Motor Trend get new drivers also. None of them really seem worth a darn.
Some of the times they write seem horrendous, and understated. |

Man, last time I posted numbers here, I was almost called a baby raper. All I have to say is, go get the latest issue, read it. They did these tests on a STOCK Cobra with STREET TIRES!!!
I have run the car on dot ???slicks?? road race tires, with a new Superchip program in the ecu. It is quite a bit faster with good tires and a chip. Later DT |

I stand corrected, the 1/4 mile time C&D performed is 13.5 at 105 mph.

Well that's awesome, high time the Cobra could crack off a 105 mph with all that topend power it has. Still massively in need of gears though.

JonnyK; My 3:73 gears are on the way. If that don't make the pony run, we will go to 4:10's. Found a bit of interesting info on the 99 vs the 01 Cobra. Seems that there is a bit more than cosmetic differences. The 01 speedometer cannot be calibrated with a chip. The 01 has more splines than the 99. Folks at SVO seem to know their business.
Will post the new times after the gear change. Any guesses??????? Later DT |
