Talking Worst Styling Cue's?

Since everybody agreed on my last topic, that the Avenger took the cake for all show no go from a stock car, I've decided to ask this.

What is the worst styling mistake on a cool car?

1997-1999 Ford Taurus SHO. Rear spoiler. (Who and why did they do that?)

1999-2001 Mercury Cougar. That new edge flat styling on the quarter panel I could do without.

2001 Toyota Echo. What's up with the center mounted gauges? Does your passenger really need to keep an eye on them for you? LOL.

1998?-2001 Firebird. Pop up headlights, do they have to look like they are velcro'd on? I'll admit, it's a sweet *** looking car, but they could have spent another $100 making those look better. Hehe.

1996+ Grand Am. Body cladding no-no. As quoted from Motor Trend Magazine. Low's: Gothem City Styling, LOL!

2002 Jeep Liberty, okay, now that's an ugly front end, looks like the whole thing is made out of a rubberized plastic mold designed by a 3yr old.

Anybody else?

I may be alone on this one but has anyone ever noticed how skinny and flat the doors are on '91+ Thunderbirds. To the naked eye they don't look bad, but after being in a few, the doors are in my opinion just too skinny and don't really match the rest of the car.
Another vote for me is the headlights on the new Focus and Taurus. Do you really need the headlight glass to stretch half way up the fender(exaggerating, but it's still hideous)???
Unit, i have to agree with basically everything you said, but i've never really noticed the spoiler on the newer Taurus SHO's. The Firebird's pop up headlights do look very odd.

Do you guys forget the taillights on the Lincoln Navigator? OMG!!! Some former engineer from AMC must've gotten a drawing in the design meeting somehow.

I can't particularly pick on any chrysler products because I personally think they all SUCK UGLY DONKEY BUTT, however the concept on the new neons must've been, "let's have a hood 4 inches deep so you feel like you're going to fall out the front of the car!!!" Next thing you know they're going to have the engine in the rear just to get more of that "cab-forward" design. No wonder that company is going under so fast...

Hey Capri, you're totally right on that "Cab forward CRAP". All it does is give you a mile of dash, worse engine compartment space, and more of a rake to the windshield (which i can see as an advantage for aerodynamic drag). The new Ford Trucks really don't have much room under the hood because of a slight "cab forward effect" and the windstars sucks @ss because 1/2 the damn engine compartment is covered. If you've ever looked at the engine compartment of a camaro it's kind of the same deal. Pretty soon every vehicle built will be made so every thing has to come out of the bottom (I think nearly all new fords are like that). I think Lincoln Masterbaters suck as is, although the front grille does look kinda cool (the rear looks like sh/t altogether, but the tail lights are hideous).

Another vote for the Axtec, but I like the pop up headlights on the firebird.

With one fell swoop JL1314 has managed to outdo all my findings.

The Aztek looks terrible, every last part of it.

I'll add the 1996+ F150 Sportside taillights. I think they look terrible.

The front end on the new Mercedes. ACK!

The wheels on the new Thunderbird, along with the extended headlight effect.

Let me think....

1. The front of the 98+ Camaros. (reminds me of the 300M)

2. The wheels on the 80s Mustangs.

3. The fake scoops on the 99+ Mustangs.

4. The back end of the 97+ Vettes.

5. The wing on the last generation Supras.

6. Most body mods that the import guys make.

Oh...and the Aztek is the ugliest car ever built, enough said.

Cool

If I won an aztek and had to keep it for some reason, I'd take out all the windows and replace them with steel plates with gun ports and put a crank operated machine gun mounted on the passenger side, missile launchers where the foglights were, and a big a$$ brush guard up front, I mean, complete A-TEAM STYLE!
Then you guy's wouldn't be dissin' my aztek.

Dissin, maybe not, but certainly laughing when your GM was all broken down on the side of the road, so heavy they had to call in a big rig towtruck to haul it off.

LOL

Diss'n? No. But I would laugh my AZZ off when you actually shoot one of your guns and the thing falls over.
Now if you were to put in a huge diesel engine, and some tracks(tank treads for you non-military guys), then it might be kinda cool.

Kinda.

Is this discussion limited to factory styling, or can we comment on our favorite styling mistakes on, let's say... Mustangs?

Do they have to be new cars, or can they be old cars too?
