Oh god.. hehe
Gentlemen, it's been awhile.
I just wanted to share the horror stories of trying to sell my car, because they are amusing. In the interest of keeping this short, I'll give the latest account. This guy offers up a bike for trade, I go to his house and the bike is in respectable shape for the year, 1987 Ninja 700. So the guys starts it up and chokes it, it revs to 6k instantly. Whereas he lets it do that for 2 minutes. Revving it to 10k not more than 6 seconds after starting it. He then procedes to try to "sell" me on the bike. First off the bike has 26k. I needs a rear tire and there is a problem with the directionals. I check it over, fork seals, chain, sprockets, whatnot.. everything looks okay. So then this guy gets on it and goes down his driveway and lights up the back tire like a crackhead, and I'm thinking to myself, I wonder how the back tire became a slick. So anyway, I ask him what kind of trade he is looking for. He says "straight up." I just about piss myself. I said "Dude I'm not looking to eat 2000 dollars." At his point he goes apeshit on my car. He says the car needs 2 tires. I said yes, it does. Then I said take off $200. This is the best part. Then he says the oil pressure is all over the place. I said what are you talking about? He replies, it goes up when I rev it, that means it needs bearings. I said, bearings..?!? it's supposed to go up when you rev it. He says No.. I say uh yeah. Then he says "I know, I have been working on cars all my life." I about pissed myself. Basically I then said, well I'm not looking to eat 2k, I'm just looking for a swap. Then I left with him scoffing on his way back to his garage. It's amazing how many people will try to scam you out of a mustang, and how much they think motorcycles are worth. Amusing to say the least. ------------------ 87 GT Full exhaust, K&N, KB Subs, BBK STB, homeade dumps... 87 Taurus New York Winters Bite! |
