"Pinks"
I didn't want to hijack the other thread about pinks, so here goes.
Im going to assemble my crew. Hide in the stands, then jump out and whup everyones a$$ that didn't run away. This show ranks right up there with oprah and mr phil. I would love to line up in my old a$$ Bronco. Just so I could run the lame host over at the start line. OOPS, sorry bro Ok, im done. ***If you like the show, thats cool and all. I don't.

Re: "Pinks"
I enjoy pinks for the most part. Think it is cause I get to see racing and other ppls Stangs. It's not the host thats the problem its some of the babies that come on there. The best one was with the brothers with the SS and Camaro.

Re: "Pinks"
Yeah my brother has a Eagle Talon AWD with turbo, he runs mid 8s in the 8th mi and I am going to bust his ass once I get my H/c/I installed with new bushings all around with new tires. He launches at 6k so its not easy when up against awd.

Re: "Pinks"
Its on the speed channel I think on wednesday or thursday. I Tvo for the new episodes I just watch it when it shows up on my list.
My ex-technician that worked with me lost his car on pinks, He was the one that blew his driveshaft like the second run off the line at Md International raceway about 10 episodes ago to sandbaggers. They had to borrow a shaft from a stock stang.

Re: "Pinks"
Sorry for the seriously newb question, but what is sandbagging? Something like a handicap? I never race on the street, and I've never been much for going to drags or races. I just don't want to go alone, my friends are all lame or parents now.

Re: "Pinks"
The best way I can explain sandbagging is when someone doesnt run their car for all its got. They wait until the last race and turn her loose

Re: "Pinks"
Oh, how weak. I'm guessing they don't go best 2 out of 3 on pinks, otherwise that wouldn't make much sense. Are the first runs "practice runs" and only the last one counts? I don't watch tv much, and I'm pretty sure I'm the last person on earth that only has regular *** tv, so I really have no clue about how they do things on "pinks".

Re: "Pinks"
It's usually best 2 of 3. We'll say Racer 1 is a sandbagger.
Race 1 Racer 1 - Runs just fast enough to win. Racer 2 - Runs all out and loses by 1 car. Race 2 - Racer 2 gets 1 car. Racer 1 - Runs a little faster, just enough to win by 1/2 car. Racer 2 - Runs all out and loses by 1/2 car. Race 3 - Racer 2 gets 3 cars (after all, if Racer 2 loses once more, his car is gone) Racer 1 - Runs all out and wins by 2 cars. Racer 2 - Runs all out and loses by 2 cars. Racer 1 was sandbagging until the final race. They were lying about how fast their car was in order to negotiate a more favorable race. That's how it works. |

Re: "Pinks"
I really like the show and never miss it. I think it is funny to watch them get all excited. The host does suck. He even admited in a interview that he had never even seen a drag race before the show.

Re: "Pinks"
I like the show. I wish they would have different races though. like when they had the go-karts. I would love to go on that show with a 03 cobra. You could really mess with someone with one of those. Have a nine sec car and look like just your everday driver.

Re: "Pinks"
I think pinks is a terrible show. The overdramatazation, and the douschebag host really ruin the show. I have watched about 3 episodes, and all 3 of them were insanely retarded. The negotiations sound like a bunch of whiney high school kids.

Re: "Pinks"
I've watched several episodes and I have no problems with the host. I'm not sure why everybody is whining about him. He has to get races on and done between two parties with thousands of dollars invested into their rides. I've rarely seen an episode where both owners/drivers/negotiators/whatever have been in the mood to run when it looks like they might lose. Just like so many other people in our society, the crybaby owners don't want to stick by their word or contract, and his job is to make sure they do.
Quite frankly, I think the host does a excellent job of keeping the owners on track, and the races going. It's not like they have a 2hr show where he can sit around and let them talk about the good 'ol days. |

Re: "Pinks"
The host is a tool, its just that simple. Anyone that would stand between two cars is an a$$hat. I will laugh hard when a axle breaks and he eats a headlight.
Its especially bad when the spot is several cars. Increasing his death wish. Is it for realism? If it takes stupidity to be real, so be it. Google search for some video. Theres people running around the track like kids at a park. The host runs around like a girl before and after the cars launch. I'll give it this, its amusing. Like watching a train wreck.

Re: "Pinks"
I just don't like that the host knows NOTHING about cars. Granted he does have advisors but since he moderates the negotiations I think it's lame that he's totally ignorant. They had a Pinks 'All Out' racing event here at Ennis not too long ago and everyone agrees that he is a jackass.

Re: "Pinks"
Yeah they could show the ets once the show aired, but you wouldn't want the competitors to see the et. They want to go as cheap as they can to make more money. It was pretty smart of the producers they hardly pay crap to get that show on the air and I am sure they are making tons of money.

Re: "Pinks"
easiest way to do it is take about 12 cars to the track for a multiple shoots of the show and dyno the cars the day before so there cant be no sand bagging
