Damn, I didnt finish, anyway I usually look forward to this show, for they feature muscle cars and usually are doing some pretty cool projects. Well not this time, the project car of the week- a little teal green civic! A civic! A civic ex! WTF! I then said to myself "I bet they ar gonna turbo it or something, make it pretty quick", well I was wrong - horribly wrong. The "mods" they were diong to this car, was a stereo system installation. A stereosystem on HORSEPOWER TV! I mean come on and to top it off, they installed a dvd player, which was playing - yup you guessed it - the fast and furious. Unbelievable. Oh yeah, the civic also featured such performance upgrades such as the infamous picnic table wing, aftermarket wheels or "rims", a few stickers, a graphics package, and yes it had the notorious fart can. They need to change the name to ricepower tv.
Just venting - John

hey now....maybe you need to read more honda magazines....all of those parts give hp boost!...these are the latest #s in this month's issue:

Large double decker wing - 20hp (from the extra downforce)
Stickers - 3hp per square inch of sticker
Fart Can - 11hp per 5 decibals

It's all your ignorance John.

So much for a budget Honda buildup. They had a total budget of $8500.00 to play with. They spent $3500 of it on that crappy Honda. Then, let's see, they put on nitrous, wheels, tires, body kit, lowering kit, fart can, stickers, tach, etc... The list of lamo stuff goes on and on. You know that some 16-18 year old rice boy is sitting home drooling over the car. So what if they got that little car like that. What y'all figure it runs with the n2o? Low 15's? Hell, a stock Mustang with a v-6 and a 5 spd. could run that and then some.

Honda's suck.

Daniel.

Yeah I do remember they had that car on a show a few months ago, and it was when they first got it. They put on a cold air induction and they fart can, and only gained like 5hp. It had like like 80hp stock or something.Ridiculous.

UUuugggh!!!!! Sick to my stomach. WHAT A DISGRACE to Horsepower TV. What kinda crap is this??? I guess I was misled. I assumed that a show called "Horsepower TV" would have things concerning hp or how to add it. I am in the midst of watching it right now. For all the stuff that idiot did to the car, he spent $20,000 on parts alone and saved a "small fortune" as he stated in labor by doing all the work himself.

The people from Horsepower TV should be ashamed. I guess a more fitting name would be "Horse Crap TV".

So, are we gonna write/call these people and tell them how pissed we are at them for putting this TRASH on the air??? AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh h

Well I just finished watching a little while ago. I have a serious problem with what I seen. I believe that with all the money the spent on the Honda all they did is waste..... They added weight = slower, they spent money on parts that just dont do any good. Who really cares if you can blow your ear drums out with a 200 db blast??? I had much rather hear the engine., But I guess if if had to listen to a weed wacker turning 10 grand to make a decent showing at the track that would get annoying to. Heck. My mustang doesnt even have a radio..... woudlnt do any good to have one.

I stopped watching that show a long time ago for that reason. They claim on their website that 98 percent of the honda feedback has been positive, well...................., my e-mail today was anything but positive.

That show sucks.

i know they wee probably forced to do the honda episodes due to some sponsorship deal or something, the show is supposed to make money you know. that bunch of sell outs.

anyway they could of at least did a real project honda build up and built that 4 banger to the max to see what they could have done with it.

or (and i like this idea better ) they should have done simultanous build ups with like a 5.0 (can be had for the same $3500 they spent on tha civic) and kept the limits on spending the same for each car.

then take them to the strip on the last episode and run them side by side and see what happens!

3500 in power adders could do a lot for a stang, or an f-body, but a honda bwahahahaha, i bet they spent 1k on stickers.

Im sure they were forced to do it by the "upper level people" for marketing reasons. Its all about expanding the demographics of the viewers to make more money.

I agree though it would be cool to do a side by side 5.0 vs. Honda and show that Hondas suck

Later,
Nick

i don't usually watch it..........not that i don't like the show, but i never seem to catch it on tv........

however, one sunday morning a while back, i was flipping the channels and stumbled across it..........they were introducing the civic.........

i thought to myself, "sweet, a little import respect. i can't wait to see what they do." ................i look at the teal hatch with fake chrome wheel covers and i think sleeper...........

i haven't seen that civvie since, but i guess i was pretty damn wrong

That show is totally unrealistic. Come on now, they always have a nice clean garage and parts to work with.
No greasy bolts
No struggling with parts/equipment
No greasy hands at the end of the job
Everything seemingly takes a few minutes to perform
No swearing when things don't go right for them
No throwing tools in a fit of rage

That show is almost like pro wrestling.....fake
