Get this...
Here in MI the performance dealer is Ramchargers. Well while I was in there buying a K&N for my truck, this guy was bragging how fast his Neon ran at the track. He gets all excited and says "I ran in the 14's with my 75 shot". It took everything I had to keep from laughing. At first I thought it was a joke, but it wasn't, he was serious.
Most of the time I don't make fun of people as long as they love to race and have fun, but this guy was a ricer. ------------------ 88GT stock shortblock, ported GT-40 iron heads, ported Edlebrock Performer intake, 24# inj, Pro-M 75mm Bullet MAM, 3.73, hurst short throw, F-303, electric fan, alum rad, FMS HD clutch, R134a ac conversion, 70mm TB , and some other stuff I probably forgot, best run so far on ET streets is 13.02@106 with a 1.87 60ft. |

That's still only about 200 hp. 14's, probably high 14's, is probably about right. Of course he could have bought a Mustang instead and run low 13's.

I remember reading an article years ago, in a hot rod mag, where they rented a neon and with NOS got it in the 13s. Cool as **** , NOS on a rented car...
