"Pour A New Engine Into Your Car!"
Bargain Have any of you seen the advertisement for that ZMax stuff? I was wondering if that stuff works. I just bought a used mustang and it has allot of miles on it. I want to rebuild the engine but I dont have time for it now. So in the mean time...ZMax! Is it a waste of my hard earned money? Or is it a good buy? I just recently gave my car a tune up. At the auto parts store, the guy looked at me like my skin was falling off when I asked for the copper plugs instead of platinum. I think I read on here that the copper plugs are better than the platinum plugs, or am I wrong?
P.S. This is a great site. ------------------ Mods: Dirt covered engine compartment.(For stability.) Torn, taped up air filter. Lost air housing.(Less weight so I can go faster.) I bought the car used with all these and more! What a bargain!.....lol |

Yes the copper plugs are better and I don't know if the zMAX helps performance but it did make my car run about 10 degrees cooler so it would seem to me like it should help with performance by reducing friction.
I did also notice that the inside of my valve covers were black with a sludge that the oil has left and I just had the valve covers off today and the black sludge is breaking up and the metal looks cleaner. I put it in my motor in a desperate attempt to lower the temp because it was overheating, it did help but did not cure it, for that I had to put the stock pullies back on. ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX 12.565 @109.38mph 1.764 60ft |

OK, if all the carbon and slug deposits are being dissolved, wont that just makes them float around in my combustion chamber and do more harm? Or is that stupid? What do you think of that engine flush stuff?

P.S. Sweet car, have you figured out why it over heats?

Thanks! Yea, I got it fixed. I had to replace the under-drive pullies with the stock ones and get a new clutch fan because the old one was a little loose. I have never used the engine flush so I don't know anything about it. I would think the carbon that breaks up if it could harm the engine would be caught by the oil filter or go out the exhaust. ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX 12.565 @109.38mph 1.764 60ft |
