I know! I'm so envious of those australian cars...then again they don't have any Super Duty or even regular duty style trucks, they only have rangers (i think they call them couriers like the crappy 70's truck we had). I'm not much of a truck guy so that really doesn't matter to me, but yeah their cars are awesome. Nearly every one is V8 with RWD.

Woh I wish they'd bring some of those BAD A$$ cars here. I wonder what the price range of some of those cars are over. It'd be nice if they brought some of them over here.
I like the Falcon that it says Fresh From The Track. Especially with the green head lights. Now I'm sure that'd scare alot of people when you pull behind them. Looks like a animal out of the woods. =) hehehe

I just want to offer my contempt with Ford for not giving us these wonderful cars.

I officially hate Ford now. Those dirty S-O-B's!!

I would give several body parts for that Cobra R ragtop. And the T3 is *******' nice too.

Ba***ds!

Yeah, I wanted that Cobra, and the Falcon- GOD I thought that thing was just a myth. Just think of those erie green lights, behind rice or a chevy. They would like "What the F***!!"
Then burn'em out!! Oh well.. I think you can actually switch the drive for left to right or right to left. I read about it on a Saleen site. They said the guy got a car that was like a Cobra and switched the driving so he could drive it in Aussie. So I think we can do it too, I just do not know the price.

But do you have to pay a luxuary tax at all?
Getting it imported?

Gawddang, those are some BADAZZ cars!!! WTF, why DON'T they bring those cars over here?!?! I think they're missing a BIG market share by keeping them down under. That Falcon looks sweet as *****! And the idea of a Cobra RA Roadster?!?! WOW!

Okay, even if they can't bring over the Clevelands or the big blocks of the past because of emission regulations, they could at LEAST bring over some of those body designs. I'm also reminded a LOT of people down there are dying of skin cancer, alot due to the fact emission regulations there are near zero. Ever been to Mexico City? I rest my case. However, who says they can't bring that design team over here, or at least use some of their ideas to build a cool car here? Oh, that's right, Mr. Nasser. Isn't he an aussie? Mebbe that's why they get all the cool cars, so he can have one when he gets home!

Dude, skin cancer? What fairy tails have you been reading? How does exaust smoke give you skin cancer.... Yes......... ok.........

The reason they don't bring those cars up here is because there is no market for them. In australia, each car company maybe has 1 econo model that they sell. ONE! They aren't a bunch of gas worrying puss1es down there. Up here it's different, economy class sells. Maybe it's because the US has tons more people, so the range of car buyers is just larger. Or maybe muscle is dead. Who knows, but I do know that for a country totalying 7 million people, they can afford to be a lot more focused on what they build. And with no emissions standards, that means BIG POWERFULL TORQUING MACHINES. This country did not go all pu$$y during the 80s. There was no such thing as a MustangII in Australia. They kept building them big, and powerfull.

I will say something right now, if NA ever does anything stupid like ban internal combustion engines, or make us all drive pu$$y econocars, I'm moving down under mate!

BTW: The prices for all these cars are very midrange, only about what it would cost you for a new GT or z-28 up here. BUT WITH A LOT MORE HORSEPOWER!

I lived in Australia for a while in 1985/6, and they were very into their cars then, too. The Mustang wasn't available then, but there were some impressive cars. The Holdens (GM Australia) were king, but Ford was a close second. Economy was left to the imports. The one thing that I thought kinda sucked about Austalian cars was that they were ALL 4 door cars. 2 door cars weren't even an option. As far as driving them goes, I had alot of trouble getting used to shifting with my left hand. Fortunately, the pedals are laid out the same way. Judging distances on the left side of the car was tough, too. My roommate had an 1980-something Escort RS2000. Nothing great to look at, but faster than any stock 4 cylinder I had ever been in. Oddly enough, the most popular cars there were cars that had been imported from the U.S. I saw a 1968 Camaro for sale there that wouldn't get more than $1800 here going for $18,000 there, and it sold.

Take care,
-Chris
