Post Mustang MPH

Does anyone know Mustang MPH. Like V6, GT, Cobra, Saleen, Steeda.

Are most the same or do they vary greatly?
Plus can up your mph?

And what's the highest MPH? I know you can add hp, but what about mph...
Because I've been looking a Mustang MPH.. but not many places list it's actually MPH.. but I have seen some numbers like 150, & 170mph.

Question

I need some help on this topic, I know nothing about cars... and I just need to get all of my facts right. Please... can you ever increase your top end speed?

ya, the 87-93 are 135ish with 2.73s. anything that you do to improve the power of the car will generally improve the top speed, although it really depends on where that power comes in at (ie, offroad H, 1 3/4 headers, and nothing behind on a stock motor would give you more top end power at the price of off the line umpfh and you would therefore have a higher top speed). why do you want a higher top speed? and why do you call it mustang mph? it doesn't matter what you measure it in, its all velocity (speed).

Wondering about a true top speed of an aftermarket Mustang. Sorry I called it Mustang MPH... just my way of thinking. I know it's all speed, but I just wanted to know if a Mustang can handle those types of speeds without something burning up, cracking, or breaking every time you hit that speed. Besides this question was coming up in a conversation between me and another person I know.

We have three Mustangs in my yard, 71, 82, and 89. THe 71 is mothballed now but at one time it would run up to about 130 if you had the cajones to keep your foot on the floor. THa 82 now has the same 351-C/C-6 and it too runs about the same and although it is a little more civilized at speed it's still an exercise in controlled fear. My son tells me his 89 went about 135 stock and about 145 with the 3:55 gears and the new 306. I'm sure he calculated this since those speeds are illegal in Texas. Funny thing is, it doesn't matter whether you're in fourth or fifth gear, top speed stays pretty much the same. THese are all indicated speeds so don't quote me on accuracy. I did have an opportunity to go 125 in an 89 and it was steady as a rock at that speed. (and yes the old fart was driving)

I've been to almost 5000 rpm in 5th gear. That is about 155-160 mph in my car. It got there easily.

sorry to rag on you 'bout the naming. the only thing that will heat up are your tires, check the rating. the problem with telling performance by top speed, is that you get very few opportunities to test top speed. thats why ricers focus so much on it, cause they drive tiny little cars (small wind resistancd) with ONLY top end power, so they generally have higher top speeds (maybe 140-150). they measure performance in top speed and redline, mostly. fargin morons.

what speed could you hit with about 330RWHP and what would be the best gear for top end? I would like to go about 155mph in the at the Silver State Classic Challenge I will try to get the car ready by next year. I might want to go 130mph my frist time out.
